I think this is a replacement for Baneslayer Angel if you're already running it, but not worth including if you're currently not running Baneslayer Angel.
I want to run this in addition to Baneslayer, but I don't know if I can justify the slot. Maybe instead of Baneslayer. 4/5 of my white fives are Angels.
Just writing this out convinced me this trumps Baneslayer. Never thought I'd see "Battlecruiser Angel" get outclassed by a creature with the same "role".
In what universe is Baneslayer bad? She has won so many games in my playgroup's experience.
Bad as in "baneslayer was bad enough, this is potentially even worse". It's a powerful card, I've just always hated how efficient it is. Most people on this forum don't mind that
Yeah, I can't believe they printed something just like Baneslayer that actually outdoes it. Makes me feel a little gross. Also unless the art for this is breathtaking, I will be out one beautiful piece of art in my cube.
This is a really good point and perhaps more important than the tribal ability.
Lyra is better than Baneslayer. I'd likely replace Banesalyer with it straight up. Even though Baneslayer is strong, I don't think even a 720 cards cube wants both - they undermine aggro very hard.

Exactly this. Better than Baneslayer, but if you're not currently running Baneslayer, this might not be better enough to make you run it.
Better than BSA, but BSA is only an alright magic card.
BSA is great, the real issue is that there are a million great white 5 drops and a lot of them don't die to doom blade or provide some value before. This is more like BSA is gold but our current selections are platinum.
Currently don't run BSA and not missing her..
May test lyra... Angel of invention is my #3 and has been performing very well of late. Don't think I want 4 white 5 drop creatures.
However, I like the idea of running new hotness and enjoy that lyra has more interesting synergies than BSA.
The angel anthem ability is probably not relevant enough to make you include her, if you aren't already running BSA.
If they print an awsome 2-3 mana angel sometime soon, maybe I'll reconsider

Agree. They both have very fringe upside, but this one is probably more often relevant.

Yup, it has to be since you can draft and build your deck accordingly, while BSA's protections depend on what your opponent is running.
Unless I open one, I'm not interested in switching out an incredibly good card that wipes the floor with aggro with one that's only better when you already have a legion of god-birds.
Unless you play multiple Angels without lifelink, the fact that Lyra is legendary might actually make her worse than Baneslayer, since you can't clone her and keep multiple copies on the board at the same time. That plus the random protection shenanigans might mean that Baneslayer's fringe upsides show up with more regularity than Lyra's ...just a thought. But if you're playing Thalia's Lancers, Lyra being legendary could be an upside. At the end of the day, it's basically just Baneslayer #2 is I guess the point. But the number of random non-lifelink Angels (Exalted, Avacyn, Resto) probably outnumbers the clones, so Lyra is probably just better. Plus, the random +1/+1 is still helpful even if it's bolstering another lifelinker.
With being able to grab her with Thalia's Lancers and Time of Need, as well as bounce her with Karakas, and maybe trigger some of the new Dominaria cards, I'm sorely tempted to replace BSA, but I the card's too evocative for me, the art's too good - I would miss her. But at 720, even I don't think I need two copies of this general effect...I've got some thinking to do.
I must be doing something wrong with my 360 unpowered cube because I run Baneslayer and I want to add Lyra in addition to Baneslayer. Outside of Soldier of the Pantheon and Terminus being cut soon for Dauntless Bodyguard and Teferi's Protection, not sure why my white section would likely be ridiculed by posters on this thread based on the opinions I'm reading, but have at it:
What white cards should be in there that I'm not running? Nothing seems obvious. Thalia's Lancers, Isamaru, and Reveillark seem ok, but I'm not interested in them.
TL;DR: Lyra seems great. I plan to add her while keeping Baneslayer on board in my 360 unpowered.

You're definitely not doing anything wrong, which is kinda the beauty of the white 5 section. You can run X out of Y options for that spot and always be running something that is at minimum cubeable and no where near an embarrassing way.
5/5
Flying, First Strike, Lifelink
Other Angels you control get +1+1 and have lifelink.
Baneslayer that is good with Baneslayer and other random angels, and mirror entity is really good with it.

Pretty sick creature, really astonishing that they printed something that's often better than Baneslayer, depending on how you build your deck.
Lifelink is a static ability, and multiple instances of lifelink on the same object are redundant.

Correct, this would follow under the same line of thought that double flying means your guy is getting extra high (lol), it doesn't work that way.
And for the official ruling:
