This is probably better than your usual one-mana-two-power-can't block, but is it still playable in this day and age?

I don't think it is. I'm already not playing the 2/1 for B in that was in BFZ (gate watch?) and this is prob worse unless you're going deep on humans with Xanthrid Necormancer. Like, it's playable in the sense that it's interchangeable and the difference is negligible enough most of the time, but when there's the proverbial gun to your head it's prob worse.

Not recursive and not a zombie. Pass for me.

I think for medium-sized to large cubes, this is a perfectly fine 2-power 1-drop for black. Other than the recursive 1-drops and the zombies, this is near the top of the list of the tier-2 critters.

This isn't replacing Bloodsoaked Champion, Gravecrawler, or Diregraf Ghoul for me. I'm also not running Vampire Lacerator or Dread Wanderer, and I'd probably run both of those before this. It is a consideration for large cubes that are already running all of those and want more.

The only one I'm thinking of replacing is Gnarled Scarhide, which can't block. I also never used its bestowed function either.

Bestow function is a key part of scarhide, makes it so much better than all the other 2/Xs when you draw it late and is still pretty much the same T1.

Not bad. Could replace Carnophage, Cryptbreaker or Tormented Hero in my list.

This pirate is slightly better than 2/1 can't block for B. Overall, a decent aggro guy.

I'm pretty hesitant to cut any zombie that's virtually the same due to Gravecrawler.

This will probably replace Carrion Feeder in my list.

This card has nothing to do with Carrion Feeder or Cryptbreaker. Why would you cut either of them for it? Not saying it's bad or anything, but I assume both of those zombies aren't really in there for their power to attack on turn 2. It would be a mistake to replace one of them for Grasping Scoundrel if at first your cube design has bring you to craft around Carrion Feeder or Cryptbreaker.

I don't think Carrion Feeder is very good. It was mainly in there as a possible aggressive one drop for black while providing a sac outlet and zombie synergy occasionally when it was relevant. Now I can replace it with a one drop that actually attacks for 2 on turn 2.

Carrion Feeder purpose isn't really to attack on turn 2. The card is normally in there to add sacoulet to the cube so that the Aristocrats package could be fonctionnal. But I do understand your point. If your were seeking for a new black 1-drop beater, I think Grasping Scoundrel could do a fine job.
