Seems decent in a peasant list with some combo decks?

I can't say I'm pleased to see you and must warn you I may have to do something about it.

I would probably play this over Diabolic Tutor in a peasant list, but even then Diabolic Tutor isn't that good in peasant. Tutors really shouldn't be priced higher than two or three, even in a lower powered list like C/U cubes. Sidisi gave us this effect attached to a 4/6 deathtouch and even that wasn't good enough for most cubes.
The cycling is really cheap, but a five mana tutor....
Still this is better than most five mana tutors that come in at rare. I used to play Diabolic Tutor, and and I'd slam this over it, but I don't really think this needs a slot in the current iteration of my cube.
I do like that it's five mana for the best card in your deck, or one mana for a random card. It feels very appropriate.
This is way better than diabolic tutor...
Probably just too expensive for powered cube, but cycling for 1 is a very high floor.
In fact, decks that want to tutor for combo pieces are also decks that tend to want cyclers the most!

I'm tempted to test, but probably won't.
I'd be tempted to test at a larger cube size, but at 540 I already have more than enough tutors.
I think this is a great budget option for those wanting more tutors and don't want to proxy Imperial Seal though.
Cycling is quite great, but I think the spell is too expensive for what it does. At 5 mana, I probably have to wait another turn just to play the card I grabbed. That sort of timetable is very hard to get working in my cube, and at that cost you'd hopefully accomplish more with other cards in quicker fashion.
I do still play Sidisi, but that's also a body. If this had something else I could give it a shot, but as-is I think it's a miss.
I'd rather play Diabolic Tutor. A tutor replaces itself anyway, so I don't really need cycling. Sure it's much cheaper, but that doesn't make up for the main case being more expensive.

Diabolic Tutor for 3BB that cycles for B seems flexible. Black could always use more 5-drops. Thoughts?
