Claim//Fame is interesting to me - I'm a big fan of Unearth, and this loses some of the value of Unearth for a red flashback spell. I think I would play this as a black card if it were just an Unearth without the cycling, but as it is, I'm almost at the point of removing some RB removal for a card that's a little more broadly playable and adds more direction to my RB section.
I think Unearth is far better; hitting the 3rd CMC is a really big deal ...that plus the cycling option is worth much more than the red flashback spell here. And I don't currently run Unearth. This is a good card, but I don't think it'll make the cut for me. Could have Modern implications though...
I like it but I don't think it's enough, unearth is so great because it hits 3 drops and that (for me) is where things get spicy. I don't support black as a main colour for agro decks and this card feels more like pure agro rather than value.
I really wish so many of these aftermath cards weren't 2 colour. If the other side was a black spell I would have a much easier time including it but as a B/R card it just doesn't cut it.
With a deck full of snapcasters, delvers, goyfs, young pyromancer etc this kind of card looks great. I love the idea ob being able to drop YP on turn 2, they kill it and I just bring it back make and elemental and get in hasty for 4.
That said it is more for constructed than cube. But if I saw it in someone else's cube I was drafting I would totally try it.
Good card, but there's a high standard for Rakdos cards and I don't think this is better than some of the #5-8th best cards. Pretty easy pass, though less a knock on the card than anything else. I would heavily consider a monoblack version of this.
A lot of black one and two drops come back anyway.
I'll echo others: the card is fine, but certainly not there for a guild card. It seems like that line has described a lot of cards in this set.
