Flying, vigilance, and a blink / Journey to Nowhere seems like potential big game. This is essentially a flying Eldrazi Displacer without the colorless requirement, I might test this over Gisela or some other white card. Combos well with Maze of Ith.
This card seems interesting - it's a 3/3 flying vigilance with either a once per turn Flickerwisp effect or a once-every-other turn Journey to Nowhere effect. The fact that even if you're exerting, you can still attack on the turns it isn't exerted makes this an interesting potential include. The fact that it plays offense, defense, and exiles all at the same time makes it seem like a pretty decent jack of all trades.
This card seems sick. It dies to a lot, but it is also a blink enabler and can remove creatures for good if you drain the rest of their gas/removal. Having Vigilence puts it over the top for me. I like it more than the random beaters that sometimes end up in my 4 spot, pretty excited to give this a try!
I'm currently playing Palace Jailer in my white 4s over a random beater like Gisela. While I love the monarch mechanic, this seems probably better overall, although different decks want it.

Seems solid. Eldrazi Displacer is a powerful card, and this gets flying, vigilance and removes the C requirement for an additional W. And, it can exile creatures (semi) permanently too. It can't blink repeatedly like the Displacer can, but that's not that big a deal in this format because of the colorless mana bottleneck. I'll probably test this and see if it can bolster the blink shenanigans archetype. I fear that this may be a bit too mana intensive for a 2WW-costed creature that can die to Bolt, but I guess testing will see.
Reminds me a little bit of Olivia Voldaren/Master of the Wild Hunt. It can run away with the game if left unchecked for a while, but it can be easy to remove.
Totally, moreso Olivia since it's a mana sink. Sometimes you also have that sick 5 mana follow up and it's tough to figure out what's better at times, whereas Master is kind of 'effortless' for its untap reward i.e. doesn't require mana.
I don't think I'd be willing to replace Baneslayer with this. She just represents so much power on offense and defense. She's the epitome of a deal with it or lose creature. This is more utility based and I'd rather replace a more boring generic but good kind of card like Gisela or even OG Ajani.
It's a great card and will be tons of fun in the Roon EDH deck I'm building. I think it misses the cut in a 450 cube. The white 4 slot is too competitive. I wouldn't cut Baneslayer for it; Baneslayer hits like a tank, brings you back from death, and survives Wildfire and Languish.
I will replace Palace Jailer with this. I do not think it is a great card because it is so easy to answer. It also faces the problem of narrowness. Displacer is a solid aggro card if you have colorless naturally, while the angel is a far worse aggro curve topper (sure it is playable, but it is probably not among the top 2 four drops I've drafted so it will very rarely see play there). This will be great in Selensya creature based decks, as well as in other blink/Recurring Nightmare decks.
I've recently realized that I run only two white 4-drop creatures and was thinking about giving Gisela, the Broken Blade a try after all. This might be a more interesting option.
And yes, having vigilance is absolutely essential. I wouldn't even consider this card if it didn't have that ability. Fortunately, it has, making those activated abilites a lot less costly.
Its this or gisela. Not sure if its worth thr cut.
I run hero of bladehold and restoration angel in this spot as well but i like those a lot more.
I guess ill have to play test to decide
This will probably replace Gisela in my 540 as she's as fragile and not as interesting.
This is my thought. I feel like I have less of a want/desire for a beater vs an archetype enabler at that spot. Plus 3 in the air w/vigilance is still serviceable as a beater and all the same ***** that kills Gisela kills this.
Another thought: she can attack and react to the board with her abilities. Also, her 1st ability during the opponent's end step removes a blocker for one turn. Repeat at your own end step for maximum happiness.

In fact, 6CMC Elspeth kills Gisela and NOT this. Angel of Condemnation strictly better than Gisela confirmed.
(Actually, though, this is WAY worse at blocking than gisela, which is worth considering)

Worse at blocking immediately, yes. Once Angel of Condemnation is active, she can effectively block 2 creatures.
At times. There are a number of boards where you can't afford to remove them in the short term, cube is full of so many value creatures. On the other end, like with Displacer it's repeated removal for when you don't end up with that Blade Splicer or whatever. (And obviously insane with it.)

Yes, but she can't block and survive against anything with 3 power, whereas Gisela blocks and lives against the vast majority of creatures in cube. They will obviously be good in different situations, but it's just something to consider when looking at comparative fragility.

I'd probably try axing either Kor Sanctifiers or Jazal Goldmane to test this out.
