Oddly I might have a better place for it at 6 mana with a little more excitement in the stat or ability line or if it exiled 2 things. It is nice that when an opponent kills it you can probably just bring it right back. I think Angel of Serenity or Quarantine Field are better for a big splashy card like this in white.
I have always wanted a fiend hunter card that had good enough stats on it's own, but they always play out more like tempo cards. 3/4 flying embalm is not enough/
Obviously a very strong card. White 5's are just too deep for a single cube to handle. I can see a point in the not too distant future where two cubes will run a completely different compliment of white 5's and have them all be good.
If this were a 4/5 for 6 mana I'd be testing it eagerly. Living through a Wildfire seems important for stuff like this.

You're missing the most important things about this card:
1) It's a male angel
2) It makes a zombie angel token
But otherwise, yeah, I can't see myself wanting this over any of my current 5-drops. Which is sad because I do think this is compelling. If it had a 4th point of power, or was the stat/cost MikePemulis said, it would be a different story.

'zombie angel' was literally the first thing I thought! Pretty cool.
Five life points to the first one to get the token altered to Prof Farnsworth saying 'sweet zombie Jesus!'

Hmmm.. this card seems very strong to me.
Immediate board prescence, non-permanant removal, resliency, and graveyard synergy.
I really really want self mill/dredge to be a thing in my cube, but feel like im a few flashback cards short of supporting enablers. This card is a great step in that direction.
IE, I don't run gifts ungiven/loam at the moment, but I'm a huge fan of both of those cards. This card is awsome with both of those cards
This is powerful but not something I necessarily need. That said, embalm is cool and I really want to play with those cards. If we get enough of them, I would love to try and make that an Orzhov theme. Since it ties in so well with black recursion, the tokens are zombies (but white so that works with crusade effects nicely). Embalm is like unearth 2.0
I think this card is pretty good. A 4W cost could've pushed it, because it seems like the kind of card that off-color decks would splash for, but it's still competitive. This is a powerful effect to be able to Embalm back. I think it's comparable to the mid-tier 5-drops that most cubes run, including the army-in-a-can guys. 5 toughness would've been big game.
I know you guys mostly focus on the general cube, but white has the weakest graveyard matters section, which is a common 5-color theme in cubes, and one for which white often gets left behind. This goes pretty far as a white bomb that also plays from the grave.

It's probably because white doesn't really ever play out of the graveyard on its own. There aren't really any discard outlets, at least many playable ones, so it's tough to take advantage of the graveyard unless you're playing with a color that can. Granted almost every other color now has that ability in a lot of different ways, and I agree there is some extra merit to this guy because he does play well in those decks and you do want white in those decks because of some of the other strengths it brings.
I think this is one of those cards that is very easy to underestimate. Fiend Hunter gets way more powerful when it resists bolt, takes care of Walkers/Artifacts/Enchantments, is a threat in its own right, needs to be answered twice, and still gets amazing value if discarded or milled.
My pick for sleeper of the set, if A mythic angel can ever truly be considered a "sleeper".
It's interesting. Not spectacular, but it might be good enough. Obviously a 4th point of power or another relevant ability would make it awesome. Still, Embalm could push this over the top.

I second that. I'll go out on a limb and predict this will be White's #3 5 drop in raw power. Maybe better.
Fiend hunter is pretty close to being cubeabe.
Is Flying +2/+1, hitting non-creature permanants AND the abiltiy to recur it from the graveyard worth 2 additional mana?
Yes. Not remotely close.
In a deck with looting/survival of fittest , the flashback value of the graveyard side of it, is basically worth a card. That's legit value for a card that is almost on curve when hardcast....
Reminiscent of lingering souls (but clearly worse).
This is a strong card for sure but I love my white fives and I don't think this beats out any of them. I suppose I could cut one of my army in a can guys (cloud goat and the servo angel) but I feel they are necessary for archetype support and white already has a crap ton of removal. I could be wrong on this though...
I really like this creature a lot. An O-ring on a decent flying body for 5 is good but nothing really cubeable, but the very reasonably costed Embalm works wonders here. Letting you re-pick your target is just great and Zombie Angel is very cool. White 5 slot is a horrible place to find room, however. I like Avacyn, Gideon Jura, Baneslayer and Angel of Invention too much to cut, and even though Reveillark is underperforming (again) for us, I'm stubbornly trying to get it earning its keep in some deck or another before thinking about giving it the axe once again. So this creature will probably be sitting out.

I do agree that this is easily underestimated at first glance since AoS's stats are a bit subpar, but I do believe the Embalm makes up for a lot of that downside. I made room for both AoI and CGR, but fitting this in without a cut in the section may be difficult. If anything it'd be between CGR and BSA.
I'd honestly prefer a different card, though. I don't want this in a control deck, because it's not going to like my sweepers. Maybe a reanimator deck will enjoy flashing it back if they mill it to the yard or something.
Aggro decks would like more tools to deal with problem permanents that lock them out, ie Elesh Norn, but this feels too "fair" of a card.

It's at it's best in a deck with reanimation components.. IE Survival/Recurring style. Taking advantage of the embalm side as card advantage is crucial for maximizing it's value.
The downside of that is white is the least supported color in reanimator.
The difficulty is assessing what 5 drop white creature to cut.
CGR/AOI aren't bombs by themselves, but are important cogs in token based strategies. Playable midrange cards.
Avacyn is a straight up good card for most decks, that works well in draw/go UW control.
Baneslayer has no synergies, but has historic significance, and is insanely powerful against a subset of decks.
Revilark is the worst by itself, but has a ton of interesting interactions and has the highest ceiling when built around.
In 485 I like 2-3 white 5 drop creatures, so the decision is close.
FWIW I cut baneslayer a while ago and haven't missed it one bit... but I understand the appeal of the card.
Avacyn and Revilark are my clear #1/#2, #3 is a toughy.
Oblivion Ring on a 3/4 flyer with embalm seems powerful, white 5-drops are getting quite stacked though.
