I like this card a decent amount. Pain Seer was always just a thing away from being consistent/good enough for me, and while this guy has definite drawbacks in comparison (-1 toughness, draws less cards if both are attacking each turn) the pros are enough to test it. Evasion and the ability to not be forced to draw when losing life is detrimental is pretty nice. Black 2s recently received a bit of a boon, but I could see this being good enough.
It's close. The menace is what's helping me justify trying to make room for it - it wasn't so long ago that I was playing Vampire Interloper, after all. Drawing a card every two turns is not the worst, and I'll probably have 2-3 other energy cards by the end of this spoiler season for the rare occasion where I have random energy lying around.
Needs to live through an attack to draw one card. So it's draw trigger is more like... blood scrivener than bob. I feel like menace has to be the main draw of this card... which to be fair it does work on, the devil from return to innistrad. <- that's the best comparison.
I don't quite buy it. Assuming it's played on turn two, it'll take till turn four before it draws a card, and till turn six before it draws two. This is assuming it gets to attack every turn after you play it. It certainly isn't impossible, but it feels unlikely, assuming the other player plays either creatures or interaction. On the other hand, WCS is a 2/1 menace for 2 which isn't completely useless.
If you hit for 4 and draw a card off of it, it's probably pulling its weight. As is though, I think it's too inconsistent to play outside a large cube, or one with some sort of energy subtheme.
They left out the part where Yawgmoth is resurrected, but has been cleansed as Yawgmoth the Redeemed, and now must awaken Chromium so that Karn can fuse with him and create what can only be known as : the ultimate taco.
I think it's decent. A 2/1 for 1B with evasion that has the potential to generate card advantage is a recipe for a solid card. I like it more than Blood Scrivener and Pain Seer because of the evasion, so I might test it out and see how it does.
If you got to put a +1/+1 counter on it as well as draw the card maybe.. but we have gotten a bunch of good 2 drops since I cut pain seer and blood scrivner. I just don't think this gets there.

That card would be insane. Evasion, draws cards, gets bigger, that would be an awesome and not really believable card to see printed.
I really like menace on a cheap creature. This will most likely get through once, then draw you a card the next turn. Unless your opponent wastes a removal on your 2-drop, but that would be fine, too.
The fact that this card has menace is what makes it great. A evasive 2/1 for 1B that draws you a card? Fine deal IMO. It can also draws you multiple if you build around it. Play it with couple of removals, Flickerwisp and Parallax Wave and you'll be reward. All at the price of 2 mana.
Very comparable to pain seer but with menace. I would always be happy when pain seer drew me one card and this guy should be more consistent in drawing and getting damage through.

I really don't think so. Becoming a 3/2 on turn 5 and a 4/3 on turn 7 isn't much a power level change but would be good to compensate for the fact that even when this goes off it is really slow. Energy is everywhere in standard where they are expecting this to be fine.
All of these bad Bobs udnerperform my expectations. I hope they bring back some Phyrexian rager style cards instead. Payoff for these is rarely more than one card anyway. (Which is the big difference from bob who nests me ~2 cards on average.)

I imagine if this card gave itself +1+1 counters in addition to the cards that it would be a ridiculous card in standard, especially if you can activate the trigger each turn instead of every other. I just find it hard to believe they would print a card that makes itself bigger, has evasion, and draws cards fairly effortlessly for two mana unless it was a mistake.

I guess smuggler's copter has my brain warped about what they will print right now.
I don't think the card dscumm is proposing is overpowered for cube. Probably less than dark confidant in power level.
In standard it would be BEYOND broken, as there are many other sources to generate energy. Would be easy to draw a card and +1/+1 counter every upkeep, that would be significantly better than dark confidant.
I like this card more than pain seer/scrivenger, by a small margin. Menace is a great keyword for a card like this.
If we ever get a small energy sub theme (unlikely), glint-sleeve's stock rises significantly. 2 energy for a card is an incredible, energy -> value conversion.
Wow I am incredibly excited about this. This guy addresses a huge hole in my 720. 2/1 for 1B with semi-evasion that needs to survive its first combat to draw a card is sweet in my book. I am currently running many cards that are worse than this.

I agree with your post, but will add Pain Seer > Blood Scrivener. Not that it will matter to most.
Black's two drops at 720 are quite bad so this is an easy inclusion.

Agree.
I like the card quite a bit, but my two drop slot is extremely congested and I've been thinking about how to get Relentless Dead back in as well. Shame as it would walk into white or red no problem. I think the lack of other energy interactions makes it a reluctant pass overall.
An aggressive Bob / Blood Scrivener variant with Menace? You have my attention....
This might replace Dauthi Horror for me.

Having to survive a turn after attacking is pretty bad since your opponent can play around it more.
Overall I dig this card a lot.

lol this is true, 'a 2/1 that draws cards and gets bigger with evasion? No way will they print this after they printed a 3/3 that loots with evasion!'

I dunno, it seems pretty insane. Regardless, it's not what we're getting, and I'm sure hypothetical standard players everywhere are rejoicing.
