Fatal Push

Destroy target creature if it has converted mana cost 2 or less. Revolt - Destroy that creature if it has converted mana cost 4 or less instead if a permanent you controlled left the battlefield this turn.

I'm thinking this could make waves in eternal formats where fetch lands are prominent, but are there enough consistent interactions in cube to make this better than Smother or Murderous Cut?
I think this is going to play most similarly to tragic slip where a creature leaving the battlefield is going to be the trigger most of the time. situationally better than slip but I think it is worse than smother and murderous cut
Definitely an interesting tier 2 option for black removal. I like this much better than Tragic Slip and think it competes well with Murderous Cut / Disfigure / Slaughter Pact / whatever the BB one that hits two creatures if you have Morbid. Not really in the market for another black removal spell, so this is a pass for me at 540.
It's a good card no doubt, cube might be its worst format tho, which I won't go far too into right now..
I'll test but skeptical. I'm a fan of disfigure which I recently cut, and I'm not convinced this is better (creatures at higher cmc are x/2 ). Though I run 2x fetch lands and the fetch land interaction is what makes this card extra appealing.
IMO It's going to single handedly change modern as we know it. It's like lightning bolt/path to exile tier removal in that format. Very excited for that.
Thinking about it some more, I'd rather play Doom Blade / Ultimate Price over this in cube. Also has to compete with other modal spells like Collective Brutality. Potential monster card for Legacy / Modern / Vintage though.
In cube as a black player I can usually control when things die more than I can a permanent I control so tragic slip is better by a nose, but an always on two mana killer can deal with a lot of things. Probably both are in the 540 range.
The fetch interaction seems great. Better than Disfigure, but I'm not running it... 720 material I would say. Super strong for modern though. Real nice to see that getting print.
Fatal Push is definitely better than Tragic Slip and competes with Disfigure as good tier 2 (3?) removal. I found Tragic Slip far too inconsistent. I'm still running Disfigure so I'll test this, but going through my list it's kinda 50/50 for what they can kill not taking into account the revolt clause. Disfigure deals with creatures like Nissa, Vastwood Seer, Braids, Cabal Minion, Mirror entity, Flickerwisp and many more while Fatal Push needs help. Fatal Push kills all one and two drops (Tarmogoyf) and has the potential to kill the big boys as well. I'll have to test it to see how easy Revolt is to trigger. Hopefully it's quite a bit easier than morbid.
While this card is huge in modern and possibly standard, I'm just not sure Revolt is reliably activated enough in Cube, and even when it is, it's going to feel real bad when you're facing down something 5+ CMC with this in your hand, though that might be rare. That being said, hitting pesky manlands and close to 60 other creatures at instant speed without Revolt seems good. I'll cut Skeletal Scrying to test this because that's needed to go for awhile, but I'm sure it won't be long before Push leaves for a better removal spell.
Insane constructed card, a bit limited for cube. Someone said in another thread that they wanted Spell Snare for kill spells and this is *so* much better, but unfortunately Spell Snare is not cube able and neither is this I think.
Seems too limited. Great against manlands and aggro decks, good at picking mana elves. But that is all it can do reliably. It will not save you against Baneslayer Angel, will not remove that blocker out of the way and black is not struggling with man lands as is. I think this is at about the same powerlevel as Disfigure. Disfigure is dead against less decks and has more game as a topdeck but will never kill that Hero of Bladehold. This is probably better than Tragic Slip too. Both are no longer in my cube.
Just to add a little perspective.
currently in my cube, this can hit in normal 79 out of 168 creatures (47%)
in revolt mode, 135 out of 168. (80%)
by comparison GFTT can hit 156 / 168 (92%) Doom Blade can hit 137 (81%).
I think the biggest problem with this card in cube is if you look at the 33 cards this can't kill are mostly cards which are game ending, where as a similar card like Doom blade can answer most of these. I will pay 1 extra mana to not lose to the big guys that are in cubes.

Yeah totally, that's a pretty big difference for 1 mana.
Yeah, wasn't too big a fan of this when it was spoiled and don't plan on testing it. Constructed formats have a much more compact / setplay game where this will shine. The efficiency isn't needed that much in cube. Compare this card to Bolt, which can kill probably just as much creatures but can also hit planeswalkers / players, this just falls short in comparison. I'll gladly spend one more mana to play a Doom Blade effect over this.
