One of my favorite fog variants for the cube! I can picture this card getting in for a lot of lethal crackbacks, and it's pretty funny with blink/bounce shenanigans...
Seems way better than Comeuppance, putting this type of ability on a stick allows for all sorts of shenanigans. Being able to blink/bounce this every turn with something like Crystal Shard or Eldrazi Displacer seems great.
I'm not a fan. The creature is just a vanilla guy who can be killed while the effect is on the stack and it only prevents damage to you. Four mana is a lot to keep open and I think your opponent will be able to play around it.
I'm not convinced this is better than Comeuppance. In the scenarios where Squire is good, he leaves behind a big vanilla body where Comeuppance would have destroyed multiple creatures. Squire also doesn't protect your planeswalkers (except by chump blocking before he gets counters). Yes, he's decent with bounce/Vat, but that's just making him a weaker Spike Weaver.
Seems better than Comeuppance to me as well, but Arachnogenesis is still my Fog variant of choice. They always should see it coming, and they never do.
I like this card. I think i'm going to give it a whirl!
the best part about arachnogenesis and this card are that because they weren't ever in the regular standard rotation people always forget about their existence. At least with my play group anyways.
Not the FLASHIEST card, and White 4-drops are stacked, but this is interesting....

Crack backs are awesome.
