Misdirection can lead to a lot of two for ones, it's nice to have it strapped to a solid mode like Counterspell. Fork can lead to some pretty funny situations, but that will probably be the least used mode.
It's funny because the common and uncommon limited fodder all seems to be pretty well costed and powerful, but the rares in general seem a bit weak. Not that there aren't great cube cards, there are a bunch. But the divide between "this is pushed" and "this is not" seems pretty big this set.
I think drafting this set is going to be a total blast.
I think this card is pretty great and I plan on testing it. Misdirection can win games, but that card is generally too situational to include in a non-multiplayer cube. This one though can just straight up counter anything if nothing else is going on. 4 mana is somewhat hefty, but some people run Dismiss and I think this one is better.
Being able to turn a Swords to Plowshares back against its caster's board seems pretty great, and having the option to just flat-out counter big spells like Wildfire also just seems generally useful. But, 4 mana is a lot to hold open, and I just don't see it being part of a winning plan all that often. Strikes me as more EDH than Cube.

My thoughts exactly. It'd be really nice to have a cubeable redirection / Fork effect. While the versatility is great, you're essentially paying double for what each mode is worth (besides Misdirection). I can technically cut Clever Impersonator for this, even if it's just a test, but I really like Imperosnator....
"Needed to cost one less" seems to be the theme of this set.
isn't that the theme of every set? I just assume that someone says that about every card spoiled

I really like how this avoids the problem of Misdirection and Fork, where you have to wait too long for the right timing or just never get an oppotunity to play them at all. Sadly, it seems overcosted nonetheless. This would need to be a 2-for-1 or similar value more often than not to be worth the four mana, I don't think that's how it would play out.

Fully agreed. The mythics are priced to move and the uncommons look quite exciting, but I have to imagine I'll be passing a lot of rares during this set and consigning many of them to the bulk bin.
This card doesn't seem good at all, fwiw. The flexibility is nice, but that third mode might as well not exist and 4 mana counters are really easily telegraphed, so I doubt you'll net many blowouts with this.
So we got a 4-cmc instant modal Counterspell / Misdirection / Fork. Seems interesting, but can it crack blue?

We still run Scatter to the Winds, so I might shelve that temporarily for this.

Agreed, when you're working with cubes and demand the best spoilers will *often* disappoint.

Or if it said "choose two." I'd be interested in that case, too. As printed, though, this is an easy pass.
