Metalwork Colossus costs X less to cast, where X is the total converted mana cost of noncreature artifacts you control.
Sacrifice two artifacts: Return Metalwork Colossus from your graveyard to your hand.

We have a giant robot. Kaladesh is probably our best bet for getting a new Tinker target for a while, but unfortunately I don't think this gets there. An artifact ramp deck from an unpowered cube running Signets, Worn Powerstone, Thran Dynamo and the like has the potential to get this into play as early as turn 4, but since it flunks the Vindicate test I don't think this is worth the setup cost. Being able to sac artifacts to bring this back to your hand doesn't seem worth it either, since it works against the mana discount. There will probably be some kind of Constructed deck that can keep recurring this using Servo/Thopter tokens, but as far as I'm concerned this is not the droid we're looking for.

I think I'm contractually required to run this one in my EDH cube. He's gonna cost peanuts since noncreature artifacts like mana rocks and equipment are everywhere in my cube. Another cool card for artifact decks.
That recursion ability is stronk.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
I was thinking that maybe he can not only see play in ramp/tinker/reanimator strategies (even if he's not the best target), but he can also be a thing in wildfire. Use mana rocks to power out wildfire then follow up with colossus.
Yes it dies to removal and has no evasion but this is so big it wins in 2 swings. That's gotta be worth something

I'd say the problem lies in its competition being much better.

Yeah, as a place holder for the true greats like Wurmcoil and what not that someone forming a new cube hadn't acquired yet, or in the case of a really big cube, this might have a home but it's a safe pass for me at 540.
This card is kind of interesting and could reward you for drafting an artifact-heavy deck. Still, in play, it is just a big dumb vanilla that can be chumped for days. Well, I guess it has to be chumped for days, since it will otherwise kill your opponent rather quickly. Would have preferrd it if were slightly smaller but came with trample or menace or some other kind of evasion. And while it is nice to have the option to recur it, doing so is rather costly.
I feel like this isn't far from cubable (if you support the artifact deck), but it is just not quite there for a traditional cube.
