The competition here is Academy Ruins for cubes that want this kind of effect. Ruins is a combo piece in its own right while being offering some real inevitability as the game drags on, but this might be better for all-in variants playing stuff like Tolarian Academy; it's also real nice alongside Crucible of Worlds. I think that ultimately the condition is going to make it unplayable for too many decks, as the card itself is both narrow and inessential.
Seems like it has too much going against it. 4 is a lot to activate, and needing 3 artifacts to do so also tough. That being said, a land that tutors is pretty gross. Probably not good enough, but a good sign for things to come with this set.
It's worth noting that you don't need three artifacts in play to use the tutor ability. The lifegain ability is just gravy. I still don't think it is good enough however, but depending on what this set gives us it might be better than it initially appears.
"Activate this ability only if you control three or more artifacts."
Without the metalcraft requirement, this would probably be an easy slam dunk even in non-powered cubes.
The life gain ability is pretty much negligible. The second ability requiring metalcraft is what makes me think this card is not worth it. And yes, I run a powered cube.
I think the card would be great if the activation didn't require metalcraft as well. I like the card, but it seems like it'll be inconsistent and kinda hard to break.
I'm crossing my fingers for a red-aligned land that works with artifacts.
Definitely interested but unless we get a ton of artifact matters stuff from this set I don't see myself running it. Hope we get more cool previews this weekend!
Ya, it seems worse now. I have another land going in from this set that I like a lot more, so it's even harder to find room for this since the day it was spoiled.
I guess we got one more staple artifact army-in-a-can. But controlling three artifacts is sort of a tall ask, and it's so very difficult to find space for generic or coloured lands, especially ones that only support one archetype - unless it is just silly good in that deck. So no, I don't think I will be testing this one.
Metalcraft on a land... Probably not for non-powered cubes, but something for powered cubes to consider?

Maybe we should start considering Urza's Factory?
