Caller of the Untamed 3G
Creature - Elf Shaman (Rare)
Before you shuffle your deck to start the game, you may reveal this card from your deck and exile a creature card you drafted that isn't in your deck. X, Tap: Put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of a card you exiled with cards named Caller of the Untamed. X is the converted mana cost of that card.
2/4
Want to abuse Reflector Mage in your green deck? Well now you can.
This seems really slow, especially since the creature itself is a 4-drop. I think I'll toss it in just for the fun factor and the fact that I'm trying to add one "draft matters" card for each color though.
3-4 cmc creatures seem to be he sweet spot for this card, so Man-o-War effects and other off color ETB effects like Avalanche Riders seems fun.
Flash in Murderous Redcap to chump, get some triggers.

I can't say I'm pleased to see you and must warn you I may have to do something about it.

I think this card is gonna suffer from BCS syndrome. Yeah, it's great when you get to make 5 FTK's over the course of a match, but this guy is a 4 mana 2/4 (horrendous), you need to invest 8 mana before you get your first ftk trigger, it does straight nothing when it comes into play, and when you need to get an ETB effect right now drawing this guy instead of the actual card is gonna feel real bad (and remember you're forced to not play the card you want to copy with this one).
Very interesting Soul Foundry variant. 4 toughness is critical here to soak up burn and protect you until the first activation. Also cool in that unlike the red and blue ones, it doesn't necessarily reward drafting the BIGGEST AND BADDEST creature or spell. ETB shenanigans without being yet another ETB effect creature - something I would like to vary more. Impressive design and can't wait for the black entry - guess Paliano Vanguard was the white one.
Certainly cool and tempting but probably too durdly for my cube. The red one played off teh same cards as sneak attack but both can't be in the same deck, and this wants to draft in the same world as birthing pod, and restoration angel but doesn't actually go in that deck.
I think there are just too many possibilities with this card for me to ignore. Man O' War, Avalanche Riders, Pestermite...
It's also nice that you can splash off-color sideboard bullets. Opponent's spamming a bunch of spirit tokens? Just switch over to a Thundermaw Hellkite.
harder to remove, you get the creature you want reliably, plus ETB effects, plus an extra body, plus repeatable effect, you only need one creature to exile, and it doesn't ruin draft archetypes by poaching fatties into decks that don't need them.
you can be dropping multiple man-o-wars, or hellspark elementals, blade splicers or any good cheap value creatures every turn.
I still like the red one more since you're almost always going to get some sort of discount on what you're copying where you're always paying in full for this guy.
I like this guy much more then the red hydra. Because you only need one creature to abuse I don't think it will negatively impact the draft and the creature token she makes is a true copy of the creature, etb and all. It is durdle city but the bcs on Caller is high enough that I will test her. There are just so many creatures that can take over the game when you get to make one every turn. Pack rat anyone lol.
What do you think the black and white draft matters cards will be? Maybe the black one will tap, discard and you get to cast a drafted sorcery. White might give protection to a creature of all colors of the chosen draft card.
Call me crazy, but this seems terrible. You'll need to trigger it's ability *three times* to actually get value from it, and as it is you'll be dropping a critter from the same point on the curve each time. Yeah, I can see how it would be nice with a Mystic Snake or whatever, but I think I'd rather just have Mystic Snake and another card with an actual value of its own.

Where did you come with three times = value? She is still a body that does a good job of blocking without ever using an ability. Once you untap with her, instant speed cube creatures are nothing to scoff at.
I've always thought it was too slow/mana hungry, but I do like that it's a single creature that will take over the game fast if unchecked, and can be activated at instant speed.
Changing the card depending on the matchup seems solid too.
Could also imagine that you brick on finding a good target, or had to waste a good pick to make the creature even playable... Not a fan of that.
Mystic snake, avalanch riders, acidic slime, thought-knot seer (draw step every turn), thundermaw hellkite.. Could imagine some very powerful targets
Yea I have had it in my cube since it was released.
It can really do a lot of work if you get the right creature under it. Getting the right creature under it usually isn't too hard because the of the amount of ETB value in cube; Clocknapper, Baleful Strix, Cloudgoat Ranger, Ravenous Chupacabra, you don't have to get too cute with it to find cards that just generate solid value when you are dumping once out every turn.
Giving the creature flash and making it colorless is a pretty solid buff when you put almost any creature under it, in almost every draft I end up with a strong off colour creature so I don't find it ever struggles for a good target.
It can feel a bit slow, but if your opponent can't remove it they are going to be in trouble pretty quickly. Being so easily splashable makes it suited for a wide range of control or mid-range strategies where it works well as a great value engine.
The ability to change the card between games is a pretty useful ability as well, there is usually some incidental hate in your draft pool somewhere.
If you want raw power it might not be for you but if you are happy sacrificing raw power for a card that makes for fun stories then you could enjoy it a lot.
I like the card. Finding a creature to put under it hasn't been a problem yet. It is a rare card advantage/win condition for green. It gives green access to off-color effects. I also like how it plays differently every draft, increasing replay value.
