The more aggressive your deck, the less damage the Prodder will do. When it hits a land, it just mills you. I could see it fitting into some aggressive midrange build, but I'm not that excited about it.
I like the body/menace a lot but I'm still not really sure how to evaluate the ability. Your opponent is likely to pitch every land that is revealed and, as long as they can afford it, any card that would totally wreck their day. That said, the damage from this creature could add up fast. I also really like that you get a regular draw on top of his ability, so you can only net positive advantage. I think this is testable.
Yeah, this seems great. The WCS is throwing away a land you probably didn't want anyway. Even if all it does is ping for an average of 1 damage a turn, when strapped to a 3/2 menace for 3 I think I would at least test a 3/2 menace for 3 that pinged for 1 each upkeep. And I think this guy is substantially better.
Even if my curve stops at three, it's free damage every turn if they bin it, and an extra card drawn if they don't. Add to that the fact that it's stapled on an evasive three power splashable three drop and...man, this card seems really good.
If you run this in an aggro deck, how long can your opponent afford to take the damage? if they aren't taking damage, they're giving you card advantage and how long can they afford to do that? This is a sort-of punisher card that actually could work in cube. I think this looks really strong.
This card is perfect. Finally a punisher card done right.
I think it is wrong to look at this card as any sort of card advantage. Yes when the opponent is low on life (Or you draw greater gargadon) they will give you the card. Probably a scenario in which you ware winning, but you can certainly give it credit for closing out a game.
But here is where it makes a great punisher card... I want the to take the damage.
This card is a one of teh few 3 power evasive 3 drops that red has period. Plus the ability reads opponent takes 2 damage a turn. That is NUTZO! Sure they will always pay one with for my lightning bolts and may not pay 4 for my armageddon (tee hee) And we need to remember, it doesn't matter what the card is, it doesn't effect your draw. (Unless you have Slyvan Library in which case it is broken as all hell)
The more I think about this the more I like it, And with red featuring a good amount of flashback cards and graveyard synergy this is a slam dunk for my cube.
Is it me or this card screams value? 3/2 with "evasion" for splashable 3cc
And during your upkeep you get these scenarios.
- Reveal something of value that your opponents don't want to see, they take a couple of burn. If you can use it or retrieve it from the grave, that's gravy.
- Reveal a spell they don't care about. You get a free card in your hand
- Reveal a land, you get a free card, and you filter your deck for better cards in the future.
I can't believe they didn't nerf this with making the cards exiled and usable until end of turn. This card is a slam dunk the more I think about it. I think this is the second best red 3 drop behind rabblemaster.

I'm down with a 3-power menace guy that also pokes for extra direct damage in my aggro decks, and helps me draw past excess lands.
Very good card. I like the idea of putting him in a reanimator /graveyard strategy deck. There your opponent really is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Just make sure you're not aching for land drops because he might sting you in that scenario. This set looks absolutely fantastic for cubes.

Oh I didn't really think of the light on land issue. It doesn't really change your odds of getting a land. But it can be a mental stinger for some people, just like when you are milled.
This card seems sweet, will definitely test at 540 over Hell's Thunder. This card will work well with Greater Gargadon in an aggro deck with a reanimatior subtheme.

Seems great to me. Now what to take out?!
That! I think this card looks absolutly insane! 450 staple at least!
What I like about it :
a) Cost only a single red
b) Has a 3-power evasive body
c) Can repeatedly provide card advantage
d) Can repeatedly provide additionnal damage output
e) Can mill lands from your top library (Makes me think of Countryside Crusher)
f) Can enable some graveyard strategies (Flashback, Madness etc.)
And on the other side, there's pretty much nothing I don't like... Definitly not fitting into decks that want to go wide because it reduces your chances of drawing a land after it hit the field. Easy inclusion though! For the swap, I would personally look at Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh, but this card isn't run in most cube. So I don't know. Looking at your list, I would say maybe Dualcaster Mage.
I like menace. And i would like another agrro 3 drop in red. However a Boggart Brute must have a sizeable upside to be cubeworthy.
As for the ability:
I looked at the drafted aggro decks in my cube, the decks had an average converted mana cost of 1.2-1.3. Since your opponent will let you draw the more expensive spells, don't expect to deal too much dmg with this.
The advantage is the draw and filtering you get with this card. Since you've paid 3 mana for the sinner to enter the battlefield, you already have 3 lands down. This means you only want one more land for your 4 drops. So any lands you hit will be dead draws anyway. Basically you get a scry everytime you hit a land, since you would scry the land to the buttom very often. Sin Prodder looks to be really sweet with hasty creatures and burn spells: "Do you want to take 3 or 4 dmg from Char?".
Now this assumed you were playing aggro. In slower decks you'll get to draw the card more often or they'll take more dmg, but less often the land will be a dead card.
The ability seems really sweet and I will be testing Sin Prodder. I like how it seems good in both hard aggro and in larger decks like Gruul Beatdown.
I think all punisher cards warrant real hard scrutiny. What does this do?
In a control deck you stop at 3 lands, barring lands in hand; they will ALWAYS pitch a revealed land. Also menace is awkward evasion here.
In an aggro deck you pressure their life total. Your spells are also cheaper, because it's an aggro deck. (Duh ) This will then ping them for 1-2 a turn on average. Then it performs like a 4-5/2 menace no haste for 3 mana. Decent but not sick.
Playing devil's advocate here (yeah pun..) but it doesn't sound 100% convincing.
I probably wouldn't shove this in a control deck...
Kind of a poor man's Dark Confidant. It seems interesting at least.

You can still draw a land on your draw step.
