This card hasn't had a thread yet, and I presume that's no accident. However, I'm looking at it as a possible replacement for Whip of Erebos. In my cube, I don't have access to Recurring Nightmare or Necromancy because of my aesthetic restriction (Modern frames only), so the Whip has performed decent so far. However, I see Corpseweft and think it might do more of what I wish Whip could do for my black section. To wit:
-Costs less to cast and less to activate
-Get a permanent token instead of a temporary duder
-Tokens can get really big if you want a bomby play, or can stay small if you need Stax fodder
Of course, I lose the lifelink static effect, and I need multiple critters in the yard to make the big tokens. But I think this could be a roleplayer for me, or at least a step up from Whip. Anyone want to throw in an opinion on my dilemma or just discuss Corpseweft?
Your environment is probably very different from mine, but the Whip still looks a lot stronger to me, even ignoring the mass lifelink. Exiling stuff from your graveyard for a vanilla token? No thanks, I'll take the repeatable reanimation anyday.
And cube is so full of etb value. I thought about this for 2 seconds, then figured I would prefer just about any other reanimation spell. I think I would prefer stitch together or unbruial rites.
Pyrexian Reclamation is one I ran for a while when my cube was rougher and might bring back at some point.
Any creatures in the yard are better than the dorky, vanilla zombies you'll make. I'm sure this card can be decent but I compare it to something like Moorland Haunt that isn't a land.
I suggest Whip of Erebos, Corpse Dance, or Living Death instead of this card. OP, note that Living Death and Whip are modern frames.
Well, consider my first question answered. Now I know why there wasn't an SCD on this before
Okay, second question: If I wanted to replace Whip of Erebos with something better, what would you suggest? I currently run Reanimate, Exhume, Living Death, Profane Command, Animate Dead, Diabolic Servitude, and (bluh!) Whip as reanimator spells.
I think both Zombify and Dread Return are solid. Not as fast as the old-school reanimation spells, but since you need to get a fatty into your graveyard first anyway, turn 4 is still ok for reanimation. They are roughly on the level of Diabolic Servitude, which you already run.

I would second the recommendation for Unburial Rites if you absolutely don't want Whip in your cube, but I personally prefer Whip as the lifelink can let it play a role in decks other than reanimation (Whip is very popular in White-Black token decks in my cube as well as reanimator).
