White scavenging Ooze. Starts off smaller and doesn't gain life, but has more growth potential since it gains counters off exiling any permanent. Being an equipment is also cool. Might give this one a spin, although I think this might not be as useful in white as it is in green with all its creature tutors that can utilize its toolbox more.
Dear friend @Steve_man you forget to put your name in this thread. Anyways, this seems really good with amazing design IMO. Being able to be tutored by Stoneforge Mysthic and growth itself in late game
I think this looks quite good. It's a way to shoehorn in extra Stoneforge targets, and the card looks quite solid on its own. It can grow pretty large, and will make for a formidable piece of equipment after only a few activations.
The loss of lifegain over scooze is a big deal, but all the other synergies + white being a better color for mid-range beater makes this an auto test for me.
The ability to hit Lands / Planeswalkers / Artifacts / Enchantments is huge.
This is going to have 2x the number of valid targets that scavenging ooze would have.
That being said, I think this is a mid teir / fringe card, because it still just dies to removal and requires a lot of mana investment to get it beefy, which is inefficient compared to something that's just naturally big like Tarmogoyf.
I was really hoping for a strong enough reconfigure for WW, and it looks like this fits the bill. Always happy with some more incidental reanimator hate too.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
It feels like it'll be insane whenever you have spare mana. I'm excited to include this for WU tempo decks in particular - hold open counter mana, grow it when you have the opportunity, and then just transfer all that power onto a Clique if you need evasion.
This is definitely going in my Artifact cube, as creatue-equipment redundancy, +1/+1 synergy, and anti welder. Easy to “level up” too due to the volume of artifact “spells” like spellbombs and cards like expedition map.
In regular this is tempting with the Scavenging Ooze ability, though being tutored by Enlightened Tutor or Stoneforge Mystic helps too. Not sold yet due to the base stats.
EDIT: Didn’t realize you can still “scavenge” while being an equipment. Good thing to remember when playing with this.
The ability to reconfigure and grow off any permanent type makes this card so much more potentially threatening than Scavenging Ooze, but on the flip side starting as a 1/1 and requiring W likely means it'll play much slower. Whereas you can comfortably play Scavenging Ooze with just 1G, you might have to wait until you have access to like WWW before dropping the Sash. I'm a bit wary that it'll end up being too slow, but it's so damn interesting that I can't help but find room for it.
This is very good - Student of Warfare overperformed for me given how much extra mana I had lying around all the time.

I'm actively maintaining a comprehensive article to help explain to new cube players how some complex vintage level cards work in a cube environment. Vintage Cube Cards Explained
Aggro and midrnage card that dodges boardwipes and is good late is big game, although this does seem substantially worse than scavenging ooze on turn 2 by comparison, and that card is already near the chopping block for us. This still looks good tho imo
How has this card played out for people? I like scooze a lot but idk if its still worth it with -1/-1, and no lifegain. Does the equip balanace it out?

Lion Sash has been great, I'd say it's on pretty equal footing with Scavenging Ooze. This being an artifact / equipment adds a lot to the amount of synergies it goes with.

Been great for us. The wider range of targets that grant the counter usually ends up making up for starting 1 smaller.
Unless I'm against a pretty agressive ill take re-configure over the 2-4 life ooze will gain me.
Good to hear. I had it in for a very brief period, but didn’t see much success with it so it was cut. I wanted to add it back since I’m trying to push white artifacts/equipments a bit more and will definitely do so now that it sounds like everyone else has had good success with it.
It is one of the weaker white 2-drops and especially with all the cards that prey on 1-toughness creatures (bowmasters, Wreen and Six etc.) this can be a bit of a harder sell. It's definitely strong, but its not the strongest white 2-drop.
However, I've noticed a recent shift, especially with Inti, Seneschal of the Sun is that midrange decks should opt for a curve with primarily 2-3 CMC threats with a few more 4-5 CMC threats and rely more on mana sinks, kickers to gain a later game advantage. This is where Lion Sash would shine.

I'd cut the Maul. I found that card to be less impressive than I was hoping.

In a vaccume, I might prefer sash over ooze.
Yeah, Lion Sash is more versatile in a lot of ways:
- More synergies with artifacts / equipment than Scavenging Ooze has being green for GSZ / Natural Order.
- Higher ceiling with +1/+1 counters.
- Can be used as an equipment to if you need to go big / play around a sweeper.
