This is a really interesting and powerful card. Obviously insane for EDH, but I'm interested in trying it out in cube. It is of course, very slow and expensive so I'm not sure which decks especially want it, but damn it looks fun!
Having a copy of everything you play for an additional 4 mana all game seems like a big game!
...looks like a combo piece in search of a combo, honestly. Not being able to “go off” like rings of brighthearth hurts.
While this card doesn’t do anything on ETB and is relatively mana hungry, I do acknowledge the value engine this thing represents (especially as you can activate the effects at instant speed right before your turn).
Blanking targeted removal, getting additional etb triggers from other permanentns (whether by copying the permanent or the trigger itself), doubling up on your spot removal... I’d expect this card to be a recentlesa value engine if it isn’t too slow. Even paying 4 each turn to copy a land isn’t a terrible worst case scenario.
...unless, again, the card is too slow.
Edit: didn’t see that permanents can only be copied as spells. No colorless land ramp, then, and there is a very real chance of this card running out of things to copy.
Wow didn't think I'd ever see "copy target permanent spell" in Magic. I assume this would make a token copy of the permanent, right?
I think this is too clunky for cube, but I find the card quite interesting (It's basically 7 mana before you get anything out of it, which isn't great).
Lithoform Engine is probably too expensive to be actively good in Cube, but it is loaded with crazy go-big possibilities and interactions. It could be a roleplayer in the blink deck (it’s pretty sweet in Soulherder decks to double each ETB trigger for 2 or copy the whole value creature for 4), the spells matter deck (as an Isochron Scepter/Mirari of sorts), the big mana green/X deck (which can more easily afford the copying tax), or the 4-5 color Superfriends deck (2 to copy a fetchland crack or a planeswalker activation sure is spicy).
I like having a few “big dream” cards for Johnny/Jenny personalities to build around (I’m currently running Panharmonicon, Rite of Replication, Jeskai Ascendancy, and Progenitor Mimic). These cards aren’t very spike-y, but when you get the time to go off because your opponent stumbles or you’re in a long control mirror, they’re a lot of fun. My cut will probably be Panharmonicon.

Cool card, but I think this is just way too slow.
