I'm also interested in this one. I think that at 3 mana with the effects granted and the auto-equip, it provides a good enough boost to test out. It's no Embercleave, but the flying and first strike on a 2-drop is a big change in math for an aggro deck.
Not sure if leaving me with a 2WW to equip piece of equipment is better than leaving me with a 2/2 flying creature when you compare this to a card like Griffin Guide. I'm not that big on Sky Maul.
The addition of first strike isn't nothing, but I get the comparison. It's also less of a blowout if your creature is removed in response to the spell, though - you still get the equipment instead of no griffin.
I think the difference is enough to test, but I understand if others aren't high on it.
That's actually a fairly solid comparison, other than the removal-in-response issue. That being said, I'm currently no longer considering this because the spot I room I was going to make for this has now gone to Emeria's Call // Emeria, Shattered Skyclave, and I don't think it's good enough for me to carve out another spot.
I'm always on the lookout for new equipment options, since I'm not a fan of the Swords (they're so slow and matchup dependent), but still want to keep a high enough density to make stoneforge mystic a thing.
I think this card looks pretty decent.
Looking at mana-costs, The first equip requires 2 less mana than a Sword (3 vs 5). The second equip puts total mana expenditure on par with a Sword (7 vs 7). For each subsequent equip the swords are more efficient.
Looking at what the card actually does, +2/+2, first strike and flying is a solid package and should be pretty consistently good. In contrast the Swords have a lower floor, but a much, much higher ceiling.
I think what really hurts this card is the fact that it's in white, instead of being colourless.
Overall, I don't think this quite gets there, but it isn't too far off.
...Is it too much to ask that Wizards functionally reprints grafted wargear 3 times?
Grafted Wargear has been incredible in my cube - really helps the aggro decks to equipment + push through damage in creature mirrors.
This card seems like a HUGE downgrade from Grafted. Unfortunately I will have to give it an easy pass.

I'm actively maintaining a comprehensive article to help explain to new cube players how some complex vintage level cards work in a cube environment. Vintage Cube Cards Explained
After a mostly negative reaction when it was spoiled I’ve seen it slip into many cubes including the MTGO cube. I’m looking to shave a 4-drop for curve considerations, and this card seems like a possible fit.
It's alright, we saw it in legacy D&T and it's been pretty good in testing. Giving something the +2/+2 and flying (not to mention the first strike) turns almost anything with 2+ attack into a tangible win condition for aggro, and just having some cheap burst (especially that you can tutor for off of Stoneforge Mystic and cast immediately) is always nice. I don't know if it'll stick long term, but it's certainly good enough to be worth a spin

Artifact - Equipment
When ~ enters the battlefield, attach it to target creature you control.
Equipped creature gets +2/+2 and has flying and first strike.
Equip 2WW
IMO, free equipping can be pretty good in aggro/midrange decks. Thoughts?
