Elspeth Conquers Death has the immediate impact of a Banishing Light without any risk of reversal.
It can fill a similar slot to Angel of Sanctions.
The second act, admittedly, is very underwhelming but the third act is extremely powerful.
This is a card that's made some waves in constructed, and it's also had a good pick rate on cube tutor and cube cobra.
For those playing it in your cube - how has it performed?
I’m intrigued by this card thanks to Standard but admittedly haven’t tried it in the Cube. Quarantine Field has been very good for our group over the past couple years. Different card but similar in that you trade efficiency for value. I’ll see if the group wants to try this out - thanks for bringing it up!
I've also recently started considering this card (and The Eldest Reborn) after seeing it mentioned a few times here (and some play on Arena). I'm not sure what to cut for it, but it seems at least worth testing.
I've played with this card in the MTG Arena cube and seen it in action in the vintage cube. The arena cube is lower power level, but I have to say it did feel like a solid answer. In vintage cube it seems like it has many many many great targets. I think it is worth considering. The only thing holding it back is what place will it take?
