I'm not sure if I'll be able to find room for this one, but it's really close. Card definitely looks strong. Also worth noting for those that run persist combos, this is yet another enabler for persist creatures without flying. (sac persist creature, moth and persist trigger, use persist to bring back, moth trigger fizzles, sac again, moth triggers, sac again, persist triggers, repeat)
Reminds me of Nightmare Shepherd in terms of generic value. It's also a combo card with Solemnity and a sacrifice outlet (which already has ancillary uses if you support the Persist combo). Looks like there's room for some potential cube shenanigans with ol' Mothra!
Seems pretty good as a top end in WW. If they spend a removal spell on it, you get to keep attacking with your other guys, and it makes wraths pretty bad. Not sure that's enough on its own, though.
My white 4's are jailer, hero, and resto. Not sure this supplants any of those.
I think i might replace Reveillark with this. I know Reveillark has been cut in some cubes, and others think that it is too good of a toolbox card, but I think both of these cards are somewhat similar, but I really want more cards that support Moat

This is where I'm at right now, as well. This doesn't beat out any of my white 4s, but I am looking at 'lark as a potential cut. I'm not sure right now, but I think it's close.

Hmmm, yeah I'm actually still running baneslayer and lark. One of those could probably go.

Pretty sure you don't even need Solemnity but only a sac outlet for a persist combo.
Luminous Broodmoth
Persist Creature
Sac Outlet
1. Sac
2. Return with Persist (no flying counter, -1/-1 counter)
3. Sac
4. Return with Moth (flying counter, no -1/-1 counter)
5. Go to 1.
I will definitely be cubing this. Probably alongside Reveillark.

This feels stronger than Nightmare Shepherd, since Mothra doesn't turn the creature into a 1/1 (and also doesn't exile, which you've noted), but it does have a similar feel.

You're 100% right on all accounts here, and I'm stoked to get this into the cube now!
I could imagine this is better than Galepowder Mage in my cube.
But on the other hand, many creatures have flying and don't work with the moth. Will test though.
I was going to hate on the card, then I read the post about the persist combo and my opinion changed!
The increased persist combo redundancy is very interesting.
I don't think it's good enough as a WW curve topper or as a good stuff cardIt's certainly playable in WW and at minimum a good sideboard card, which supplements the combo narrowness.

Moth dude isn't actually very good in a Moat deck though. Most of your creatures will have flying already.
The persist combo is a nice bonus, I like this card's chances for cube.
Pretty sure you don't even need Solemnity but only a sac outlet for a persist combo.
It's a persist combo enabler AND it works with Solemnity to create a combo with any sacrifice creature (or sacrifice outlet). My point was that Solemnity might not be that narrow of an inclusion because it also works as a persist combo enabler, in addition to being a combo with Mothra.
So Moth + Persist Creature + Sac Outlet works to go infinite AND Moth + Solemnity + Sac Outlet (+ any creature; no need for Persist) also works. They're not exclusive combos.
I was going to ask what persist creatures are cubed aside from Kitchen Finks, then I remember Murderous Redcap is an option and the reliable Woodfall Primus. That said, I'd have to include repeatable sac outlets in the cube in order for Mothra to make sense. Could be fun for some folks!
My favorite card from the set thus far. Definitely getting one. I love moths and value in white is always welcome.
Especially since many of my Theros themed cards don’t have flying so it has utility for me as well as theme
They're not sacrifice outlets, but I also like the idea of this in a BW stax build where you get back whatever you sacrifice to Braids/Rankle/Smokestack to further break the symmetry of the effect.

You are right, I was only thinking about Persist.
But still, I don't think it makes Solemnity cube-worthy. It's a nonbo with half of the other persist combo enablers. Also, it blanks about a hundred cards in your cube and about 70 in mine.
Luminous Broodmoth
