I agree with the above. I play SoWaP, and it is honestly quite awful, and I will happily replace it with this shiny thing. Protection against Azorius is also one of the best colour combinations to have protection against, in my opinion.
There is not enough cubeable cards with proliferate, and it is such a fun ability, so I'm happy to see it tacked on a good card like a sword. For me, its an easy include over War and Peace which I was running- that card has never served it up in the grindy games where you need a sword to be good.
The pro white is good, but pro blue is probably the worst protection. I think the activation triggers are less exciting that the three swords mentioned above for sure.
I agree, but I think it needs to be put into perspective. Fire and Ice was printed at a time when WotC was still struggling with cards that are "too good". Body and Mind is only "too good" in our format because of the smaller deck size. Feast and Famine is just good. I see these new swords comparing to the old swords the same way the enemy man lands compared to the originals. They're fine, but we were fooling ourselves if we expected the Simic land to be anywhere close to Colonnade. These new swords will be good, but I don't expect them to be so good that I feel like I have to run all ten. If we get to seven with this set, I'll probably run that. Any more than seven and I think it's time to start trimming the worst of the best.
I didn't even include any swords in my cube. But this one just feels more interesting as a whole. I might get this one and give it a try and see how it all goes from there.
I'm also very interested in trying out a great way to proliferate.
I think this is well below Sword of Feast and Famine, Sword of Body and Mind, Sword of Fire and Ice and Grafted Wargear.
