In any analysis, it's important to remember that you don't get to play against a goldfish. As you said earlier, attacking into 2/X blockers is a big deal.
Krenko demands an answer about as quickly as the other 3 drop token makers. He's much stronger than the rest of them against blockers, and stronger against spot removal that shows up a few turns late, but weaker (gets less damage) against turn 5ish wraths. I think that's solidly worth a spot at 540.
If I cut a token maker (which is likely), it will probably be Legion Warboss.
Krekno seems strong. While its damage potential is lower than the other Rabblemaster variants until the 4th attack, being able to swing with Hanweir Garrison stats and grow from there is very appealing. I might give this a test just to see how many Rabblemasters is too many Rabblemasters.
I'm thinking about dropping garrison cause... Meld text, but mostly because krenko can survive more attacks than garrison and he also adds to rabblemaster by providing more attacking goblins, unlike the attacking humans
Another great token producer in the red 3 CMC slot. I think Goblin Rabblemaster remains the undisputed king. Not only does he have the strongest damage output, I disagree with the assessment elsewhere in this thread that he is the least resilient. For us producing a permanent on turn 1 has been far more relevant than missing an extra point of toughness. For that reason I find Goblin Rabblemaster and Legion Warboss to be more resilient than their competitors.
I think this card is very close in power level to Najeela (who is at the bottom of my list), who maybe barely edges out New Krenko on Warrior synergies.
I will definitely give him a shot; sin prodder and alesha, who smiles at death haven't been doing alot recently but I am hesitant to have all my red 3 drops do the same thing. It's also legendary, something about a named character always bumps it up a point or so in my eyes; I was going to find a slot for legion warboss but this might make it in instead for some variety sake with equipment synergies.
I am really looking forward to slapping some gear onto this guy and dropping 4-5 goblins a turn
Out of curiosity, is it possible for Legion Warboss to mentor New Krenko for its first attack? The rules and stacking confuse me.
Yes, you can. When they both attack just make sure the mentor trigger resolves before Krenko gives himself the counter and BAM! Three goblins and a 3/4 Krenko. I think Krenko's high toughness is one of his greatest strengths imho.
Interesting card. Najeela synergizes well with the suprisingly decent amount of low-CMC Warriors in the cube, this synergizes well with equipment and keeps growing. Red 3-drops are such a competitive slot.
Krenko's actual name is "Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin", which is goofy enough that it makes me want to run it more. I'll probably cut Hanweir Garrison, since I like the Goblin and Warrior synergy more than occasionally getting value out of having exactly Xathrid Necromancer in your deck.
Krenko into a turn 4 Elspeth, knight-errant is devastating if they don't have removal. attacking for 5 in the air and creating 5 chump blockers ends games pretty quickly
Do you have a story to tell? would love to hear it. I would suggest the only happen in cube thread but it seems like it disappeared? Googling it only brings up a "Forbidden" page.
Woof that is some synergy I've never thought about. Attack with Krenko, make goblins, use those goblins to tap blockers before the declare blockers step. That's actually sweet.

Yup, plus they're also untapped to tap down their lands and stuff during their upkeep. Usually not entering tapped and attacking is a drawback, but it's actually pretty busted with Opposition.
Has anybody else been unimpressed with Krenko lately? The card is solid, but the slower clock hasn't offset this in the way it has felt. And unlike any of the other rabbles, the fact that he has to attack before he can do anything on blocks has made him worse for the midrange/controlling decks which doesn't make up for the lower speed for the aggro decks. The only thing that has me waiting before I cut him is the ceiling with curves like Gideon/Elspeth/Wargear. Probably cutting him once I get my hand on a Seasoned Pyromancer.
I’m typically very harsh on new rabblemasters because of their competition, but I’ve been pretty impressed by Krenko. I’m eh on the fact that the goblins come in untapped, but having 3 toughness is great and the synergy with equipment has been relevant multiple times.

Yes, this card is not very impressive and easy removal target. Got cut after a few months and replaced with better options.

I think this is very different than Seasoned Pyromancer, which is a more unique effect.
Currently I rate the red rabblemaster variants as:
1) Goblin Rabblemaster
2) Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin
3) Legion Warboss
4) Hanweir Garrison
5) Najeela, the Blade-Blossom
