Whenever an opponent casts a noncreature spell, Cindervines deal 1 damage to that player.
1: Sacrifice Cindervines: Destroy target artifact or enchantment. Cindervínes deal 2 damage to that permanent's controller.
A more expensive destructive revelry (splitting cost benefit), but has the added benefit of hosing blue decks without artifacts. Seems pretty devastating against control decks that like to spin it's wheels and still has a strong floor as a naturalize effect (in powered cube at least).
It's not the gruul card I was looking for but I can see this doing 4+ damage on a regular basis while trading with a card on board. Doing 1 damage on every artifact, enchantment, instant, sorcery and planeswslker your opponent casts can add up really quick. I think I'll try this out.
It is a little awkward that the damage is best in aggressive decks against decks with low creature density, since aggro usually has an advantage over those kinds of decks anyway.
I won't seek this out, but I'll throw it in if I open a copy.
Not bad, but this seems like a worse Qasali Pridemage overall.
Yes, but that doesn't mean it isn't cubeable.

This is much more a blue hoser than qasali pridemage ever was...
I see the qasali pridemage mode as it's backup mode.
Not saying it's better, but they serve different functions than is obvious imo.
It's upside is much higher than pridemage, but not sure how that averages out across all matchups and archetypes.
I love this card for EDh where you are all but guaranteed a bunch of pings but this seems so matchup dependent cube. Don’t want to have a sideboard card take up a cube slot.
This card is good against any matchup in cube, aggro decks will play equipments and any other deck will either play enchantments or artifacts or noncreature spells. it does not depend on your oponents deck whether you pay this or not. it depend on whether you can capitalize on the damage output of this card, meaning if your goal is to drain your oponents life, then always play it. if you wish to mill, then maybe it is not the removal of choice.
@Chandler Muriel Bing, I have to disagree with you there. Different decks play wildly varying numbers of non-creature spells. This card will play a billion times better against a control deck with 15 non-creature spells than it will an aggro deck with 5 removal spells and 2 swords. It will be potentially game winning in the control matchup but clunky, slow, and weak in the aggro matchup.
Seems like sideboard tech for any green or red that can splash the other color. Maybe main for a powered cube because creature density can be quite lower.
I'll be testing with my fingers crossed.

If gruel is super aggro in your cube I think this is better than ancient grudge.
But if gruel is more controlling, I think this is worse than ancient grudge.

This does hit enchantments (unlike Ancient Grudge or Vithian Renegades), so that's nice.
