These cards were discussed here in the Random Cube card of the Day thread, but surprisingly there was no SCD or MCD of them.
Both Wrath of God and Day of Judgement are considered by many to be staples in cube and the best at what they do in white. 4 mana wraths allow the control player to stabilize against aggressive decks, deal with threats that go wide and kill hexproof creatures.
A classic example of symmetrical effects being less symmetrical than they seem, the trick is all in you controlling the timing, since you know its coming you develop your board accordingly, take a few extra hits and clear the board when your opponent over extends. You lose your creatures but you have decided what creatures to play out, it is pretty easy to hold some creatures back and play them out post-wrath. At larger ammounts of mana you can easily wipe the board and follow up with 4 drop, this kind of swing can be back breaking in the late game if your opponent has run out of gas.
Dont forget about Damnation. It's non-white, but it's probably more important to black than Wrath of God is to white.
Yea I probably titled it wrong, it is just for the 4 mana white wraths since they are pretty interchangeable in most cube settings, I think Damnation already has it's own thread.
