Surprised to not see a thread for this. Could easily see this not being good enough, but I think it's better than it looks. It's essentially a 3/3 trampler with draw 1 as a floor, which seems solid. There are a number of strikes against it, but maybe better in practice than theory? Thoughts?
Random discard is never good unless you're aiming it at your opponent. I don't think this can hang with the Triple H gang that is Hero / Hellrider / Hazoret. I also like the 3/3 that gives other creatures +2/+0 and haste when they ETB a lot more since he's good support for tokens (forgot the card's name).
Can't see this in a cube outside of Junk Rare Cube. It seems really, really terrible for a normal cube. I don't think a floor of a 3/3 trampler that puts me up a card is good enough considering it could just as easily pitch my best card and leave me with a land. It only seems good in agro, and even there I already have much better options that don't rely on chance to get the job done.
If the effect was symmetrical it would have a much better chance at making it into cube (chance to screw an opponents hand up and maybe have a much better chance of being a 5/5) and it would have uses outside of straight agro.
I tested Desperate Ravings for a short time and the random discard on a CA spell is not as bad as it looks. It tends to work out better than you expect especially when you have a hand that is flooded or choked with stuff you can't cast anyway. Sure, sometimes you get unlucky but I found it happens less in practice than you might expect and you can always cast your super critical spell before you cast ravings. And CA is still CA.
Now, this effect will be more or less punishing depending on your cube configuration. The wider the power gap you have between the best and worst cards the more severe random discard punishes you. So IMO this is better in lower power lists with a flatter power curve (or at least better in decks not focused around a handful of OP cards).
What I dislike more than the random discard on Rowdy Crew is the body. 3/3 trample for 4 is not good. And unlike the draw 3 random discard 2 (which I think will be good most of the time), the +2/+2 is probably rarely going to trigger making the base body what you get stuck with a lot of the times. That said, the incidental GY component to this is nice to see. Red could use more cards like that. For those pushing a heavy GY component in red already, I could see testing this to see if it plays better than it reads.

It's better than a 3/3 draw-1, but not by a wide margin and that baseline is... just not good at all for cube (nobody plays Masked Admirers).
I'd probably give it a shot in Peasant cube, but as a mythic it's really baffling and defintely can't stack up against the other options already mentioned.

Ogre Battledriver, he's rad and def underrated.
Second that, every time I go to cut him he impresses me enough to save himself from the chopping block. He isnt just great with tokens either; he turns all those W/ R 2/1s into Lightning Elementals and makes the recurable B threats all the more potent.

Yea I think it would always need to be a 5/5 trampler to interest me at all
Nice to see some love for Ogre Battledriver. The ceiling on that card is very high. It's more aggressive midrange though so I can see how the fastest cubes might not have a place for him.

Hard pass from me.

For a rowdy crew, they look kinda friendly. In fact, they almost look like the crew for a Pixar pirate movie.
