Pulse Tracker / Mardu Shadowspear variant with a 2nd toughness ain't too shabby. Losing the second power hurts against pushing through other 2 toughness creatures and bringing planeswalkers down, but unblockable life loss is fairly nice. Thoughts?
Ya, unfortunately this just doesn't get there. Having the actual 2nd power is too important for threatening combat trades. And it also makes the creature less effective at attacking planeswalkers too.
I'm sure there's a threshold we could reach where you could get around this issue, like an 0/3 that causes 2 lifeloss upon attack, but this guy isn't there.
