The text, in case it's hard to read in the pic: Whenever Scrap Trawler or another artifact you control is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, return to your hand target artifact card in your graveyard with lesser converted mana cost.
At first blush, I think this is too narrow for me, but those of you with larger and/or artifact-heavy cubes may be interested.
its an interesting card. I play a very small artifact package compared to most so its not really on the consideration board for me.
It has some potential though. I like the idea of grabbing hangarback walker and Engineered explosives off of pretty much any artifact hitting the grave and recasting them.
I think this works well with the kaladesh vehicles and constructs because of their high risk of being removed and high mana costs. They if they draw removal its going to hit the vehicle or construct and leave this guy on the board for a second card return. and while perfect situations are going to be rare I think there are lots of times there can be a lot of incidental value to be had.
"oh you kill my fleetwheel? guess i'll grab tanglewire again... time to sac tanglewire? how about a late game hangarback?"
"i'll sac mindstone to draw a card and bring back lotus petal, then cast the card i drew with lotus petal."
probably lots of better interactions in cubes that actually run artifacts haha.
We have a fairly deep artifact.dec support package, but I don't want this. Maybe in an artifact themed cube.
Yup. I'll love this in my artifact cube (that I'm waiting to draft for the first time until after this set update). This and Pia's Revolution helps with the recursion strategy very much.

I would like to see your cube! Would you mind sharing it?
I would love this in my own artifact cube. This is potentially a cool engine card or a simple "Myr Retriever"

I used to write for MTGS, including Cranial Insertion and cube articles. Good on you if you can find those after the upgrade.
