Converge (comes onto battlefield with +1/+1 counters equal to the number of colors used to cast this spell).
Creature - not sure what type is, but who cares
Remove a +1/+1 counter from Crystaline Crawler: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
T: Put a +1+/+1 counter on Crystaline Crawler
1/1
Interesting take on Pentad Prism, this can ramp really hard in 3+ color decks. Thoughts?
So on average you will probably spend three colours on it, giving you a 4/4 for 4 - which allows you to ramp by up to three mana of whatever you want the next turn? I think it's a pass though, since for the games where you're screwed out of a colour, this is just horrible. But it's a good design.
Ramp by 4 since you can give tap to give it a +1/+1 counter the turn after you cast it.
I like it. I can ram it into a combo deck and cast Gristlebrand or something turn 5 or reliably cast Nicol Bolas / Ugin or something. Probably going to test this.
360 is nope, but I might try this if I was a little bigger, it can be huge ramp, although I imagine there is a clause for one removed counter per turn, which will mean this is a stinker.

Yes, that is key, but I understand that isn't the case. If it's one per turn removal limit this thing sucks.

This is how I feel. I could see this card not being good enough, but the ramp + the fixing + being a creature is exciting.
Also does this mean you can go infinite with this + verdurous gear hulk + some blink/recursion engine?
ACS seems decent, and as far as BCS goes this is one of very few cards that will get you a T4 Ulamog with 4 lands and a signet. Likely to test at least, but biggest concern is the same as the issue with Woodland Wanderer -- it is atrocious off of pod, cascade, reanimation, blink, etc.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
If this doesn't limit the amount of times you can remove counters per turn I think this is an EASY shoe in. BCS is you drop this on turn three or four with 4 counters and then the following turn tap for a counter and remove all 5 to dump out a 10+ mana threat. Wow. Even if ACS is three counters you still get the ability to ramp 4 the following turn. And, with 5 toughness being easily obtainable this guy can survive wildfire and give you explosive mana to make up for the lands you lost. Color me impressed
This card is really freaking cool, and I like how WOTC is playing with mana rocks these days. This card is fixing, ramp, and a finisher all in one. Just keep it around and grow it each turn/use as a blocker, then late game dump it and burn someone out or attack for damage. You can even remove the counters if it is killed and spend the mana on anything. Heck this could be a curve topper in agro if nothing else. If the only downside is 4cmc I do not see it as that bad, just more of a mid-game ramp card.

Does anyone know if it's limited to once per turn?
It's not limited once per turn, my translation is confirmed to be correct. The original article is in Japanese but it does have an English translation for the card. You have to click the blue kanji in the middle of the article for it to appear.
That makes this a pretty interesting prospect. In a 3+ color deck, this is a 4/4 for 4 that can grow itself (or just tap for mana) every turn, and can also provide some explosive ramp. This can bridge you from 4 to 8/9 mana on the following turn, and in any color too. Seems valuable for big mana multicolor decks. May be worth testing.
This is a pretty neat card. Getting 4 colors on curve might be hard, but I think getting 3 is quite realistic. In the right deck, of course. But why would you want to play it in the wrong deck anyway?
Yeah this thing is cool. Imagine always having counter mana up, or playing this and dropping another card the same turn if needed. Seems very versatile.
I do like the gilded lotus style counter mana up the same turn it is cast. And being able to rebuild it's mana after you burn it is good. Being able to get the tinker mana and sac this thing in one turn off 4 mana will happen as well. It all comes down to if you can remove all the counters in one go.
'The key difference between the similar Sunburst and Converge is that the first is a keyword with a static ability which is only permitted on creatures and artifacts while Converge is an ability word which can go on nonpermanent spells.'

Oh the version I read didn't have that tap ability. That helps fix one mana better if you're screwed out of a colour. That looks a bit better now. Still not entirely sold but yeah, this is at worst a really decent ramp guy. Our ramp decks are unfailingly three or more colours anyways.

Not seeing how that's relevant? Crawler is a creature.
Mechanically, sunburst would have worked just as well as converge on this card, but since they flavored it as a Zendikar card, they had to use converge.
Also, there might be more converge cards in this set, meaning they went with the more consistent mechanic.

The point being they are (seemingly) moving away from Sunburst so they don't have to go back and forth between one and another. So you're not wrong, except in that it should be one vs. the other because Converge isn't wrong either.
Seems interesting. The first card from C16 that made me perk up. I don't have a ton of high cmc multicolor cards, but even just the ramp is nice. I'm a fan of mana sources that do stuff, though this is more of a creature first.

For the museum aspect of my cube I prefer this to be Converge since Engineered Explosives is already holding down the Sunburst camp all by itself.

Right? The ceiling on this card is just dumb. I want this in my Nicol Bolas decks, lol.
