No, I'm saying that a lot of cube managers around me tend to avoid playing nonred aggro stuff in their un-list because they think it's bad without fast mana and because they like the EDH style of play, while, in the process, they let more slots for other cards. That's a pretty frequent unpowered pattern. I'm not conflating anything. I'm just referring to some facts. And you're talking about outrage... I just don't get it.
With that said, let's say Noxious Gearhulk seems good in un-lists that don't support aggro. Kills a big dude, provides ton of life and has an useful keyword on a less heavy traffic board.
Those lists I'm referring to aren't necessarily online, I've heard about them from time to time, try a few of them since the years and seen few excel list from people that didn't use Cubetutor at the time. Just for fun, I'll try to get my hand on one of them. I know here most of the un-lists reflect the power ones, but I wasn't aware it was that much of a consensual assessment. In my mind, unpowered and aggro tend to avoid dancing together. One word that comes to mind to describe my thought, if it can help, is budget. Maybe I was wrong then.
And, Goodking, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about it, and that's fine. We just don't have the same experience with unpowered and powered.
Power should be relatively theater-neutral. Aggro can be good or bad in powered or unpowered lists, and it depends on the rest of the support available. Pretty much all theaters benefit equally from the actual power. It can be used to shore-up a bad matchup or further polarize a good one, depending on draws and available power in the pools.
FWIW, most unpowered cubes I've drafted support aggro, and it's playable and competitive. I've never witnessed aggro being non-competitive because of the lack of power floating around.
Yeah, the lack of aggro in those lists doesn't seem to be directly related to the lack of power in those lists. It sounds more like a conscious choice by the cube manager to just not support aggro in those specific colors. And don't get me wrong. It's their cube, so there's absolutely nothing wrong with that choice. Their cube needs to be built so that their playgroup will have fun and enjoy the experience of drafting and playing it. It is possible, though, to support black or green aggressive strategies successfully in unpowered lists.
Also, this Gearhulk was a huge let down. Such a bummer.

That's cool. I didn't mean to come across rude. No hard feelings.
Took a good long look at my curve last night and the only Gearhulk I have space for is green and red (assuming it's good enough). I'm not interested in the white one at all and I at least wanted to test the blue and black one.
The problem the black one has is that there is a lot going on in the curve: Grave Titan, Gristlebrand, Tasigur, and Tombstalker. Two of them have delve, sure, but I really needed this to cast 5 for curve and cube real estate considerations.
If anything power helps midrange and control more in my experience since aggro decks have a fairly intensive colour requirement. Im thinking off colour moxen, Sol Ring and Mana Vault.
I feel like I want to like it. Not sure why, but it being a "big Nekrataal" doesn't seem to bode well. I do like the the body is an actual clock, though.
Man, if this thing cost 5, I'd be all over it. At 6, though, I don't think I'm interested. (But I do think it will find a home in the reject rare cube.)
Noxious Gearhulk was discussed here in the Random Cube Card of the Day Thread. Does the though of cubing this make you nauseous? Visiting the thread could be the cure.

Powered cubes can properly support aggro.
Unpowered cubes can properly support aggro.
Either can fail to properly support aggro.
If there are more unpowered cubes not supporting aggro, then that correlation is no indication of causality. Just a different design intent.
I would argue that power and fast mana in particular benefits control more. That's our experience.
I don't consider calling an assertion 'outrageous' rude or unfriendly. Please don't take it as such.
