Chandra, Torch of Defiance 2RR Planeswalker - Chandra
[+1] : Exile the top card of your library. You may
cast that card. If you don't, Chandra, Torch of
Defiance deals 2 damage to each opponent. [+1] : Add RR to your mana pool. [-3] : Chandra, Torch of Defiance deals 4 damage to
target creature. [-7] : You get an emblem with "Whenever you cast
a spell, this emblem deals 5 damage to target
creature or player."
It's worth noting that unlike Chandra, Pyromaster, you can't play lands off the +1. Also unlike the Pyromaster, this card is absurd. Its abilities basically crap on every red planeswalker that isn't Flamecaller and give you literally everything a red deck could ask for. It's a rock for Wildfire, it's removal, it's a Sulfuric Vortex, it's card advantage, it's a win condition.
Yeah, I have to figure out what gets cut for her, but something gets cut. Probably Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, since I think Daretti, Flamecaller, and Koth are all more important to the cube.
Unreal walker. What's the cut? Flametongue Kavu? Avalanche Riders?

Card is great. Card advantage, reach, removal, ramp and an attainable ultimate that wins the game. Slam dunk at any size. I'm actually kinda shocked at this printing.

Yeah. Seems unreal. The red Mind Sculptor... but even better.
Pushing the sets planeswalker in demand so much that its allmost "guaranteed" to see play in massiv numbers seems to be really cheap way to design cards.
But in the end, only people that like some decent designed cards will care, and all the othrs just take it as what it is, a bunch of abilities put on 4 mana planeswalker that doesnt have any focus at all, just do something of anything.
If I do understand good, with the first ability, you have to cast the card at activation? Is that right? Because if you don't, your opponent eats 2 and the card woould be exile for good?
The only words that could come out of my mouth were holy *****. This card is insane.
This card isn't even in the same category of the other chandras. This is insane.
I love this. The abilities are great and it makes the casting cost essentially only two mana from her second plus ability. I am really looking forward to her in further testing a modern deck out. Just great all around in my opinion.

This card is designed so well that I am actually thinking about buying a box, and the last time that happened was EMA, Conspiracy and original Innistrad. So I think you are the minority here.
She helps burn because by turn four or five they usually start running out of gas and this either does a guaranteed 2 damage or let's you cast something. Grixis may possibly try this since it gives card advantage, burns, gives mana, or removes a threat. If she ultimates: you do five damage with a thoughtscour.
Now I have to figure out what gets cut from my modern Ponza deck for 2 or so of her. She solves so many problems that deck can have. She provides card draw, ramp, creature removal all in one card slot. Just amazing.

No, you don't have to. If you reveal a card you can't cast (a land, a card that's too expensive, a card with no targets, a counterspell, etc) OR you elect not to cast a card you could otherwise cast, the spell stays in exile and your opponents take 2 damage. If you want to cast the card, you have to do so immediately, as it's part of the ability.
