This card seems NUTS. It makes you the monarch when it ETB, so you're almost guaranteed to draw a card, it's a 5/5 with Trample, and if you untap you have a one-sided Mana Flare effect that provides additional fixing. Thoughts?
Monarch is a mechanic that I'm really excited to try out, but which I could easily see ending up much better or much worse than my current guess. If my current estimate happens to be spot on, then green 6's will go Primetime>GOG>behemoth>Greenwarden (at least for us -- GOG has done very well in our slower, unpowered, tokeny cube with twin support). I don't think we can fit a third green 6 right now, but recent sets have us looking for a way to increase the number of cards available without diluting combos too much.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
I've seen Monarch in action a few times, and it's quite good. So getting a Wake-esque effect strapped to a Monarch trigger and 5-power w/ trample for 6 mana seems good to me. I'll very likely test this over Greenwarden.
Helps overcome the Wake/Mana Reflection issues firstly by helping you to keep you well stocked to use all the extra mana, and secondly providing board impact. I like it but not sure I like it enough to run.
Greenwarden's been a pretty boring card around here; wouldn't mind slotting this in over it. Seems like superramp and wildfire's best friend; not the worst curve finisher for Gx midrange either. I can even see reanimating this sucker in a pinch.
This card looks sweet. Card draw in green is good. The body and trample are fine. The mana effect seems great. I've got room for a second 6 drop in green and this is it.

Interesting card. I guess it pass the Vindicate test because of the monarch mechanic. Getting to draw a couple with it is going to feel good also. And the addition of the Mana Reflection effect is fine. At the end, I think Trample and 5 thoughness is key to his succes potential.
Now I am getting exited for Monarch. Have this thing instantly killed is not a game ender as you will definitely get one card back and being the green deck you will likely keep it.
I'd thought about the Wildfire applications but hadn't considered how brutal getting monarch online and then Upheavaling is. Seriously, turn 5 this, turn 6 upheaval, then cast this again had got to be one of the most brutal plays you can make in cube! Good call steve_man.

The mana doubling effect also fixes your mana, which can be really nice post-wildfire for casting 1XX and 2YY spells with a pair of lands.
