Volatile Chimera 2R
Creature - Elemental Chimera (Rare)
Before you shuffle your deck to start the game, you may reveal this card from your deck and exile three or more creatures you drafted that aren't in your deck. 1R: Choose a card at random you exiled with cards named Volatile Chimera. Volatile Chimera becomes a copy of that card and gains this ability.

Not quite on the level of Arcane Savant, but could still be really fun as far as "draft matters" cards go.
Unfortunately, this isn't especially compatibility with the Sneak Attack / Feldon archetype. This is only relevant if you end up last or near-last picking a bunch of big monsters that don't fit into your aggressive burn deck. You have to end up with huge monsters that don't otherwise fit into your deck for this to pay off.
I feel like k always end up with a huge dumb fatty in my aggro draft pool, that obviously isn't run, but any Titans are suddenly amazing in this scenario :). I think this is actually a good card.
Edit: Holy ***** this isn't until end of turn. Definitely testing.
Definitely a fun card that I'll gladly put in my conspiracy module, I'm hoping to get one of each color to balance out Arcane Savant, turn 4 Eldrazi in a midrange deck seems fun.
That's hilarious! I can see all kinds of interesting draft decisions around this picking late off-color bombs that wheeled, like the odd Dragonlord Atarka or similar. Red's three slot is very well stocked but I may have to try it.
I love that it doesn'tjust copy the p/t but rather the entire creature. I also like that nobody knows what creature it will become lol. Seems very powerful and fun. Will definitely test.
this one is a pass for me. having to exile 3 creatures for a random chance doesnt quite cut it. with the savant you'll always have at least 1 off colour spell that can be tacked on, but i feel having 3 5cmc+ off colour bombs is too variable. esspecially with lots of my big fatties having etb effects which this wont hit. also this competes with sneak attack which seems less fragile.
This clearly makes it one powerlevel, but it wants three different cards from a smaller pool than Arcane Savant, so we might not run it if it proves too disruptive to drafting dynamics (R guy taking Griselbrand, inkwell, and Eldrazi Titans away from decks that actually want them).

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
What an interesting card. This is like an odd form of Morph. Pay 3 for a vanilla creature that you can morph into something else, except in this case it isn't a static morph, and you can keep doing it. Now, your midrange and control hate drafts can work for you in game rather than be empty picks. As far as draft goes, this is an incredibly cool card. Unfortunately, the last thing I need is another red three drop. At 360, I don't have room for it.
I think I like it about het same as savant. Yes you have to drop 3 creatures and this is random, but cube has dozens of good creatures that would be worth it and are draftable late. The savant has a few high targets and some off color removal but most of these cards are high picks for other decks.
In the end I will probably pass as my cube doesn't get enough reps in to need the draft matters cards (as I found out from conspiracy one).

This is a good point. There's only so many fatties to go around and one player drafting at least three of them just for "funsies" is not how I want my drafts to go.
I would be slamming this for certain if not for the concern of having an aggro drafter steal three fatties from the more dedicated ramp/reanimator drafter. I'll still try it out, but it may necessitate increasing my fatty quotient.
I am going to pass on this card for two reasons:
1) I don't need yet another red 3-drop.
2) I fear that the incentive to pick up 3 fatties will hurt ramp, reanimator and sneak decks too much.
Turn four you'd at least be getting two activations generally, so it'd be more likely to get the transformation you want.
well you have a 33% chance of getting it the first time and 33% chance of getting it the second time so really you arent any more likely to get the transformation you want.
If we run this it will be counted as a 5-drop. Against any deck except maybe UG I think it will be much stronger used that way. As a side effect, this has made me realize just how many fatties have some of their value in a ETB or cast trigger.

I'm not as concerned as some about poaching of fatties. If I've drafted this card, I'm still not picking an off-colour Titan or unplayable Eldrazi over something that's actually good/needed for my deck; it just means that those cards have some interest for me other than 'none at all'. I expect to grab a few 5-6 mana beaters and maybe one sweet bomb with it, on average.

the probability of not getting what you want in either activation is 2/3 x 2/3 = 4/9, so your odds of getting what you want in at least 1 of the activations is 5/9.
Yeah I think being forced to pick at least 3 and it being random makes this a pass, but it's a very cool design. I love how much they are giving cube with this format.
