Otherworldly Outburst R

Target creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn. When that creature dies this turn, put a 3/2 colorless Eldrazi Horror creature token onto the battlefield.
A tiny crack is enough to open the mind to Emrakul.

I'm interested in this card. In a deck that runs a decent amount of creatures or tokens, one mana for a 3/2 seems solid. I think optimal usage would be as a combat trick to give a blocker an extra point of power but just tossing it on any creature that's about to die can at least help you maintain some board presence. EDIT: Could also target an opponent's creature that you're about to Bolt or they declared blocks with.
Seems a bit unpredictable to me. Sure, sometimes it'll be good value (even maybe a 2-for-1), but other times it'll just sit in your hand without a target and you'll wish you had some burn or Jackal Pup. I'd probably run Skin Invasion if I wanted this sort of effect.
I actually think this is better than people are giving it credit for. As opposed to Skin invasion, which gives control over flipping to you opponent, this comes out of nowhere allowing for potential trade ups and replacing your threat....actually as i wrote this, i realized this is just a worse Brute Strength most of the time. Better against non damage spot removal, worse everywhere else.
Seems okay actually. It's basically a 3/2 Flash for R in when played in response to a removal spell. And that's worst case. Obviously as a combat trick it can gain even more value.

i disagree with this. this can be used on your creature in response to a wrath, on their chump blocker, to trade much better, and its all for one R, this is pretty much Red's definition of versatility. I think it probably plays pretty well despite not looking that great on paper, gonna test this not sure whether i'm optimistic or not on actual inclusion.
I play with brute strength, and find it is pretty good, but I am usually just using that to Lava Spike my opponent and fuel spells matters card. This seems so much worse as I already have my creature on board, and on the rare occasions that I am using it for combat I often win it with Brute Strength. Now if this gave +2/+0 of +3/+0 it might really increase the trades or get in for a more valuable amount of damage.
The ability to target ANY CREATURE (yours or your opponent's) for value is the key IMO. Both Undying Evil and Skin Invasion suffered because they were only good on either your guys or your opp's guys. This is good on both. I can see plenty of scenarios where you either cycle this into a 3/2 after burning their guy or pump your (chump) blocker with no loss of value. I'll definitely give it a shot.

I guess it is a cool trick in a pauper cube, but I really can't see this making it into decks in traditional cubes that run all the best cards. Sure, there will be situations where this would be good, but would it be better than all the super powerful cards that you could have included in your deck instead?

Yeah, this is my inherent issue with tricks in cube is that there are often more proactive/better things you could be doing. Like you're saying, it's not the worst, but I'd rather run more burn or support an archetype further.
