A Gruul card worthy of discussion, and one that's not a 4-drop! It's got a Wolfir Silverheart / Huntmaster of the Fells vibe to it, not sure how I feel about it yet compared to Huntmaster // Arlinn.
Not pushed enough for <=450, IMO. Needed trample, or fight on ETB instead of +4/+4. I like Wolfir Silverheart better and even that card is kind of fringe for my playgroup.
Pretty far from considering this. Needs to flip at least once to get value worthy of a 5-drop, and there's rarely hope of that in cube. Gruul is way too deep to consider this at any size.
This isn't close to Arlinn Kord, who in turn isn't close to breaking the top 6 Gruul cards in my books.
Not that Gruul is really looking for new playables to be honest, I would like to see some more options for Dimir in the near future though.
I don't even like it as much as Rurhic Thar. If the front side also had RG:Transfrom Target Werewolf, then we would be talking something worthy of what people were waiting for.
That or some form of evasion. Like menace on the human side and trample on the wolf side. Still probably wouldn't have been strong enough. Also, have spoilers started in earnest or are these just pre-spoiler season goodies?
I was thinking the same thing. Without haste there's no value added unless you have a creature already in play from a previous turn. But at least this gives werewolf decks a commander now.
I think this card is not even close of being remotely playable in cube.
The front side of it is clearly what we could call underpower for a multicolor card. 4/4 for 5 seems like really bad stats to me. Then, the ETB ability could have been just fine if you could flash it in... but you can't. Overall, the card just feels wrong in a full powered cube even if the flip side seems appealing.
While not exceptionnal, according to actual testing, Arlinn Kord seems way better. Just WAY better. Faster. Bring easier card advantage. Effective value planeswalker.
The problem with designing werewolves is that you only have so much space since the transform triggers take up almost half of the text space on each side.

Con - it's terrible in cube!
I can't imagine a cube that would want this, except my budget MC cube.

I don't think this is the legendary werewolf that the EDH guys next door have been hoping for...

Wished it cost 3 mana for a water downed version. 3/3 +3/+3 5/5 fight on back?

I like the flip fight and giving something +4/+4 is better than Wolfir Silverheart as a one off trick as it keeps it even if Ulrich dies.
