The cost reduction on this card is what makes this card appealing. Emrakul having flying / protection makes him a great reanimation target and should be the easiest to actually hardcast mid / late game for ramp decks.
I definitely want to test this out. Also, Innistrad is totally going to get blown up, EMN is going to be the Empire Strikes Back to BFZ's somewhat happy ending.
Yeah an Emrakul without the silly shuffle clause. No it deosn't win as often as the other one when hard cast, but you don't get bonus turns from the other when cheated. I can easily see some slotting this in over the original.
I didn't see a thread when I started mine. I'll just delete it and post what I said here.
I like the Mindslaver effect on it, not sure if giving the opponent a turn after breaks the utility of it or not. It doesn't require colorless mana specifically like some people thought might happen, which means it will fit into cube easier. I also like the Tarmogoyf effect: lots of cubes are already running fetchlands which will help the pricing on getting Em out. Green ramp decks will likely find this Em cost 10 or less, which they can easily manage.
Does this cost reduction make Em the most playable battleship Eldrazi for cube? Obviously all three are now Reanimate targets, so they're even there.
I think it does, looking for the wiser cube managers to sanity check me.
I think Newlamog is still the scariest of the three as it's super hard to remove and the attack trigger is just stupid. It's a better re-animation target than either of the other new Titans. That said, this Emrakul will likely be easier to hard-cast and I think the combination the Mindslaver ability, 13/13 with awesome evasion, and relevant protection, will make this the obvious second best Titan. Especially for cubes that don't support C mana.
So the idea is cast this for 9 mana, opponent can't deal with it on your turn, use the Mindslaver turn to waste all their sorcery-speed removal on other stuff, they get a chance to topdeck an answer, then you get to swing for 13. Not actually a great reanimation target in my view, as it doesn't solve problems AND present a threat the way Woodfall Primus, Terrastodon, Elesh Norn, and even Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger do. It only presents a big scary dude to deal with.
I think it's a great reanimation target: he's a 13/13 with evasion and relevant protection. You use their mindslaver turn to burn all their removal on their own things and make unfavorable attacks with and eat their largest with Emrakul.
Also, the set symbol is a friggin CUPCAKE with TENTACLES.
Worth noting that this Emrakul is pretty weak to wrath effects. Unless your opponent has a discard outlet or countermagic, you're not going be able to get rid of it without killing Emrakul.
I'm not entirely sold. The cost reduction is enticing, but it feels like one of the weaker titans to cheat into play, and the Slaver effect seems a bit situational, especially when it grants your opponent a "real" turn as well. It does dodge a lot of cube removal though and demands your opponent topdeck well.
At first I wasn't a big fan but the more I look at it I'm getting more into it. I have been considering mindslaver for a while because it's a fun effect so this may fulfill that plus being a beefy reanimator target. She doesn't have the same game-win-ability that the other does but 13 flying, trampling damage is still mighty impressive and will win games but not in an unstoppable/unfun way like new Ulamog looks like it does.
Protection from instants seemed weak at first but upon reflection it basically dodges most top tier removal leaving white enchantments or sweepers the best way to deal with her. Or am I missing something?
Do you think she will see modern/eternal play? I only ask to get an idea of where the price is likely to settle.
I like how each of the Eldrazi Titans have their different forms of protection, making each one a different puzzle to solve. The most solid catch-all removal spells seem to be Oblivion Ring / Edict effects, butt Koz 2.0 can still counter them and Emrakul can make you burn them on the mindslaver turn.
Seems testable. Protection from instants takes a lot of removal out of the equation, basically only leaving wraths, some edicts, and the O-ring effects, which makes this a pretty viable reanimation target as it ends the game in a couple attacks. In a normal ramp deck, you're probably going to have creature, sorcery, and land in your yard by the time you're casting this (at least, if not more) so it being a 9-10 CMC card is reasonable, and also castable for super ramp decks.
Would it have been so broken to just give you the mindslaver effect without giving the opponent and extra turn after? I guess it's pretty backbreaking anyway, but if you successfully case a 9-10 drop you SHOULD win the game.
Edit - not to mention, if you do manage to cast it, your opponent can't kill it on your turn so hopefully you can burn all their non-instant removal spells during the turn you take.

You don't get the Mindslaver turn if you reanimate it. It's a cast trigger, not an ETB trigger.

Emrakul is still vulnerable to Diabolic Edict, Disk activations, and extremely large Pernicious Deeds on the turn you cast it.
This card seems awesome. Only a certain number of cards actually kill it, it hits for a ***** ton with evasion and trample, and it's not out of the question for a ramp deck to be able to cast this where you get the probably-really-good mindslaver trigger. Like it doesn't REALLY matter if my opponent gets an extra turn if 'they' just made the worst attack of all time that removed their boards, and there are a lot of scenarios where that extra turn is them trying to pick up the pieces of 'what went wrong?!'. Definitely like it more than New kozilek; I like new ulamog more but I am very interested in testing this.

Yeah, but hard casting this without any mana elves in play will be very rare, and casting it into an untapped disc would be pretty horrendous play
I'm not 100% sold, but I think it has a lot of potential. I'll be testing it out to see how it plays over the next few weeks.
This is pretty much where I am at as well. However it is an easy shoe-in over Void Winnower. My playgroup just love that guy, but something has to give .
Taking everyone's input here into consideration, how often do you see the old Emrakul get cast? 15 mana is a pretty hefty pricetag, even for super-ramp. It feels like the reduction means ramp will be able to make Em a factor in more games.
The hardcast functionality will be an infinitely bigger consideration for the new Emrakul. Even regular control decks can reach the 8-9 needed for this guy in the later stages of the game. For ramp shells already considering the other new Eldrazi titans, it'll be pretty easy.

Old emrakul basically only ever got cast with channel. Casting this guy for 9 or 10 seems completely doable for a number of cube decks.
I think this could be a great cube card, and I love the idea of having a playable Mindslaver effect in cube. I'll be testing this out for sure.

At this point I think my Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is gonna get replaced.
