Without a storm combo possibility, there are way more scenarios where you go way behind returning those lands to your hand. With it, it's still kinda meh. Never been super impressed by Gush, despite the interactions existing.
I forget/lose ***** all the time, vacation or not lol
The drawback was just too steep. If you support storm and/or a turboland deck it can be really busted, but at face value it's just too medium in this format.
I love Gush, but in Pauper. It's way better when you can build your deck to abuse it. Just last night, I floated 2 and Gushed in combat into a Spellstutter Sprite to counter a Doom Blade. It was awesome. But I don't think it works in cube.

Bedlam Reveler seems like a decent card to refill your hand late game in a spells-matter deck, but I'm not sure it's strong enough on it's own in cubes that don't explicitly support the spells-matter archtype.
Is there a deck or archtype you once supported, but no longer do because it didn't end up working out? What do you think it needs for you to support it again?
I support the spells matters deck, and Reveler still proved to be too narrow for us.
I tried to get an aggro-Loam type deck to work, with Knight of the Reliquary and Titania and stuff, but the cards were narrow and the payoff wasn't high enough. I think the deck needs to come together organically with a bunch of lands-matters cards that are good enough on their own, or have some payoff cards that are just so good that it's worth forcing together.
I never tried Reveler, and I wouldn't mind more cards similar to him if they were pushed a little bit more for cube.
I never tried it, but based on feedback from these forums, artifact aggro never quite worked, but in terms of creating tension and overlap while drafting I would love to have a few more aggro colors that benefit from running aggro, and it would be great if it used some of the same pieces that more combo version of the artifact deck also want to run. I don't see this happening for a while though, if ever. But I can dream.
I really like Whirler Rogue as an efficient blue creature for midrange decks and blink decks to use for value and late-game reach. Naturally, it gets even better in decks with enough artifacts to use her ability even after the thopters are gone.
Is there a card that you don't run due to competition at it's CMC slot, but you would love to be able to run if it was moved up or down the curve (and modified appropriately)?
I like Whirler Rogue but the competition in blue keeps it out of my cube. Great card, though. If I really pushed blue tempo more, I'd probably include it.
A great card that fits into most blue decks. 4 power over 3 bodies with 2 of them having evasion and to top it all of you can also make other creatures unblockable when the thopters are unnecessary, It really is a neat little package.
Off the top of my head, I wish all the best army-in-a-can white cards didn't cost 5 (apart from hero of bladehold who I don't have), I run 2 and I am constantly on the verge of cutting Karmic Guide to add a third but them all my 5 drops would feel pretty similar.
Opposition doesn't have a modern-bordered printing (no, the Invocation doesn't count), so I'm not running it in my cube. However, it is the kind of card I would love to try out and build around. Using your excess creatures to tap down your opponent's lands or remove their blockers for an alpha strike, for no additional mana, seems very good.
Have you ever been vehemently opposed to something memorable? What was the situation?
Opposition is so insane, when WotC wanted to make a functional reprint for standard it had to be in two colors and not be able to tap lands. It's great. Opposition.dec is my favorite UG archetype in cube.
Whirler Rogue held on for a long time in my cube, but once I cut below 400, it was a casualty. A nice combo with Opposition. I can't wait until U and B get their army-in-a-can 5cmc creatures.
What color do you tend to pair Opposition with most? I know UG is sort of the standard, but I like it in UW because you get access to Enlightened Tutor, Angel of Invention, and token-spamming walkers.

Agreed. For that matter, Opposition.dec is my favorite UX archetype in cube. I really enjoy pairing it with black and picking up the B 2/2s and Bitterblossom.
I'm pretty sure today's card is the only planeswalker in the game with a loyalty ability that is only two words long (aside from the errata'd Chandra, Torch of Defiance).
I'm kind of medium on this Nissa, but there aren't a ton of U/G cards I'm amazed with for cube, so she makes it in for now. I do like the flexibility of being able to drop her anywhere on the curve, and of course, being (technically) a three-mana planeswalker is always a good thing, plus her last ability can help close out a game in a ramp deck. I could see cutting her as we get more sweet U/G cards, however.
Do you like the SDCC promos? What is your favorite oddball promo card?
Nissa's probably my second favorite UG card after Edric, Spymaster of Trest, she's been a fantastic addition to cube and puts the Merfolk walker to shame in terms of power-level and how interesting the cards are to draft and play.
I'm not a fan of any of the SDCC promos so far: the black-on-black looked cool, but were beyond the threshold of readability (kind of like the AMK masterpieces), and then I thought both the zombies and the hieroglyphs under-delivered on their concepts. I'd run the Bolas hieroglyph art if I still ran that one, he's the only member of the bunch I prefer to the original art, and that's still not a big enough difference to justify the price gap for me.
I appreciate them trying to make more neat frames and styles for cards: cute frames have been getting better on average, with the KLD masterpieces and the Jace Spellbook being some of the best, and some fantastic alternative art, with my favorites being the anime Jace and Chandra (too bad they'll never do that again) and again, the Jace Spellbook. I'm happy they keep experimenting with this stuff, and I'm even happier that the ones I've tended to not like be the most expensive versions (the SDCC stuff).
Nissa is incredible and I think she's clearly the best Simic card. I'm pretty open-minded with what people choose to run in their cubes because of the nature of cubing, but I would say not running Nissa in your Simic section is a mistake.
Trinket Mage seems great in a powered cube, because it can grab Moxen, Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, etc. and do a great job at ramping you. I don't think it has enough targets in a non-powered cube, however, even though Skullclamp is a hell of a card.
Do you have a favorite trinket? Is there an trinket-like artifact that you would like to own in real life?

Mana Crypt was originally a book/comic insert and not released in a 'real' set, kinda crazy.
