Riftwing Cloudskate is a card that seems too slow for most cubes these days. It seems odd to say this, since it plays a similar role to Mulldrifter, and that card is great. While the Cloudskate is probably worse, despite having the Suspend option, is it enough worse to justify me never having considered it?
Is there a card that one of your drafters convinced you to try that you ended up liking enough that you kept it?
Cloudskate is quite good, and is always up for consideration. It's never left my on-deck binder despite the power-creep ...I've just been unable to find a good cut to bring it back in.
It has a lot of synergies being a 2/2, and have two costs adds a lot of value too. With the suspend cost I would never consider it because it's the worst 5 in at its cost, but it smokes all the other 5s on T2.
I had it in the original version of my list when it was 450 around Innistrad or thereabouts, but it got cut pretty early on. It's a good card, but I don't think it's essential for a blue section.
Damnation is clearly a great card for black control decks, and I love that non-white decks have efficient options for dealing with swarms of creatures.
Would you like to see more of the Masterpieces get their art on normal-bordered cards, as the duals from BFZ did? Which art would you like to see most?
Nothing to say about Damnation, except it's great; run it.
I'm neutral about the Masterpieces art. I didn't like a lot of the Expeditions because they had hedrons and didn't look a lot like what the name of the card suggested. I liked the Kaladesh borders and art and didn't mind the Amonkhet ones as much as others did although they were hard to read. I'd like to get my hands on the Mana Vault and the Mind Twist but don't really care about the others.
I want a Damnation so badly, but it's currently out of my price range. The price seems more reasonable since its reprint so once I'm back in employment I might finally acquire one.
Not a lot to say about it, it's a black Wrath of God and that card is a staple. I can't think of too many reasons not to run it unless you really prefer the -4/-4 that Languish gives and only want 1 black wrath, but personally I would run both.
Wait, when did the BFZ duals' artwork get printed on normal-bordered cards?
Damnation is my second-favorite black sweeper after Toxic Deluge, I don't know what needs to be said about it! The cost and effect have been consistently fantastic throughout Magic's history, and Damnation is an important rendition of it. I think I prefer the original art, but I'd love to see the Masterpiece art in a non-Amonkhet frame...those frames are so miserable to read!
Wait, when did the BFZ duals' artwork get printed on normal-bordered cards?
They were part of a promotion about a year ago where you could get one as a reward for participating in six standard events over the course of a month.
I've been wanting to see more go wide decks get drafted in my cube, utilizing cards like Spear of Heliod and token makers, but they haven't come together very much yet. Perhaps my group has been undervaluing these decks, or that they don't have enough support in my cube (probably both). I like Spear on paper, and I do run it, but it hasn't shown up much in my games yet. How often does the activated ability come up for you guys?
Who's your favorite mythological figure or favorite mythology? What do you like about it?
I like Spear. It misses the cut for me at 405, but it's my favorite basic Anthem variant. It's a bit more fragile, but the activated ability comes up just often enough to make it worthwhile.
I'm waiting for a Crusade that only affects my creatures, but until then, love my Spear - it's also interesting how frequently random artifact synergies come up with it, I love cube.
I keep Spear of Heliod in at 420 as the best 3-CMC anthem effect to help support go-wide strategies since I cut Mirror Entity. If I didn't support tokens I would slam Always Watching, vigilance is one of my favorite abilities. The activated ability is icing but sometimes does close to nothing for you. So it's an anthem. 2W for an anthem sounds TIGHT.
I think Porcelain Legionnaire is a great creature to support aggressive decks regardless of whether they run white or not. While this may make it harder for Legionnaire to make it to the white drafters, the nature of it being a card that can go in any aggro deck helps those decks come together more often, which I appreciate, especially when we don't draft the entire cube.
Which plane would you like to see Phyrexia invade next? Is there a particular character you would like to see be turned?
Porcelain Legionnaire is one of the first cards that I'd include a second copy of if I decided to break singleton again (after Gravecrawler and Faithless Looting). It allows so much flexibility for aggro decks and has a lot of fun interactions due to being an artifact that I enjoy playing with. No matter how small my cube gets, I can't image ever cutting this guy.
I'd like Phyrexia to invade Dominaria again - I don't want them to be successful, I just want to see that fight happen. I'd really love to return to New Phyrexia more than that, though.
Rishkar is good for powering out six and/or seven drops several turns earlier than you'd otherwise be supposed to, but it can be blown out by removal in response to his ability. Being able to use any type of counters to generate mana helps him play nicely with other cards, though, and playing him later in the game when you already have a board presence can actually generate mana if you already have creatures with counters.
Do you believe that people have souls? If so, do you believe they're free or tethered?
Mirran Crusader is a fine aggressive creature (also holds Sword of Fire and Ice like a champ), but I personally like to get more from my double-colored creatures.
What's your opinion of Protection in cube? Is there a color in your cube that is protected against more than others?

Shiny stars look nice in foil too.
Oedipus Rex is really epic for me. All the movie WTH moments seem to be inspired by this.

I'd like to see the Phyrexians try to go at Nicol Bolas or the Eldrazi, lets get some misguided bad guys going.
