There were times where Skulker was fantastic. But there were also times where it just didn't do anything. It's close, but I don't feel the need to cube with it.

This. I like it, particularly in dimir with dark confidant or phyrexian arena, but the floor is too low for me. If the skulker itself had some kind of evasion, I'd give it a closer look.
skulker was in the very first iteration of my cube and since it went from janky rare cube to more competitive it just didnt cut it even in a lower powered cube.
Card is a reward for drafters going down the zombie path. Without heavy support it will not see play. In a tribal cube I imagine it is a very high pick at pack one.
Today is going to be my first Halloween in the states, so I don't know what I like yet.
This card has all the tribal red flags: it's a do-nothing enchantment that is worthless outside a dedicated deck.
Halloween is definitely the best holiday. My favorite part is that cool stuff becomes available: googly-eyed glasses and gorilla costumes. It's the only time when horror is completely mainstream.
Meloku the Clouded Mirror has been on the chopping board for a while for me now. It feel like some of the love he gets is from an older day of cubing.
Casting it T5 leaves it very open to removal, but casting at T7 so I have a counter feels too slow; I guess your just looking to untap and make a bunch of birds but that mean having 2 utaps before your attacking. Don't get me wrong, in decks like opposition it can be the nuts, but in the average blue deck he has stopped impressing me.
Maybe I'm using him wrong but he has been sucking lately and seems very slow.
Meloku is great. Dominates the game if left unchecked, and interacts with discarding effects and token strategies. Nowhere near the chopping block for me.
Meloku has been the best of 5s, it has been the worst of 5s. It definitely dominates when left unchecked, but sometimes it gets checked pretty easy. Still running, but always ready to cut.
My brother got me a t-shirt from Vegas that had 'Stonehenge Rocks' written on the front and back. You would never know it was from Vegas, but it's easily my favorite shirt.

Meloku plays more like a 7 drop than a 5 drop (you never want to play him without some mana open), and a 7 drop left unchecked SHOULD dominate the game. Meloku just feels a bit slow when your gradually building birds but you open yourself up to really getting blown out if you go to alpha strike. I think it just has an abysmal floor that doesn't make up for its fairly high ceiling, it's too easy for Meloku to do absolutely nothing.
What discarding effects does Meloku work with, do you mean returning lands so you can discard them?
meloku is a recent addition to my cube and i havent gotten in any real testing. but it is such a great unique card that I like it for that aspect alone. power seems great to me in a slower unpowered cube.
I've never played with Meloku, but he's a classic, and he's cheap. I figure I'll acquire him some day, and he'll probably be a lifer in my cube. He's exactly the kind of card I love: great, but beatable, and full of random potential synergies.
I got a pewter ring in Florence with a chimpanzee's face on it. I named it Gilgamesh, and I wear it any time I go somewhere important.
I love pyroclasam; whether I'm sweeping away tokens, pre-combat to clear out smaller blockers or post-combat to finish the job on a larger creature. It is one of the example of reds more controlling nature, damage based sweepers are some of the easiest to make 1 sided (or close enough to it) because you know its coming and have all the control of when you drop it and what you follow it up with.
2 damage is a pretty good spot to be at, it kills a lot 1-3 drops in cube and what it doesn't kill it brings into range of your other burn. This lets you pretty effectively sculpt a board by playing the pyroclasam to kill a few small guys then lightning bolt to take out that x/5 your worried about.
Post combat pyroclasams are usually pretty strong if you have set them up right, it lets you attack with any creatures that have been outclassed on the board you have in the knowledge you will lose some creatures to blocks but the damage they do puts any blockers into pyroclasam range.
I would probably call Pyroclasam a staple, only reason I could see cutting it is we get a better version or power creep goes insane and we live in a world of 1-mana 3/3s. Gotta love that OG Ice Age art, complete with awesome (and pretty accurate) Jaya Ballard flavour text.
Pyroclasm is unnecessary, narrow hate card against aggro, IMO. Red already has access to so many more versatile sweepers and dividable burn that Pyroclasm never felt necessary.
List of red sweepers that are way better than Pyroclasm due to their power / versatility:
- Earthquake
- Rolling Earthquake
- Wildfire
- Burning of Xinye
- Fiery Confluence
- Chandra, Torch of Defiance
- Subterranean Tremors
- Sweltering Suns
- Slagstorm

I live near Salem, MA so it's cool to go there when I can make it through the traffic/etc. Also it's fun to randomly see the costumes out and about.

Yes. It can fuel Masticores and Forbids, give you junk to pitch to looters, and can also trigger landfall shenanigans sometimes.

While you're there, you can pair him with Tireless Tracker! Maybe throw in some Lotus Cobra and Courser of Kruphix for good measure.

Red is pretty solid in a more controlling shell. Cards like Wildfire, Fiery Confluence, Earthquake all reward you for creating a certain board state. Goblin Welder and Daretti, Scrap Savant let you get tricksy with artifacts. Burn spells are always great for closing out games in the mid-range games, not just agro. Feldon of the Third Path lets red access recurring nightmare style etb value abuse.
