Every part of Shriekmaw is great, including the art and the rarity. I like it when the generally agreed best card in its color/curve is a fifty cent uncommon. This sacrifices almost no power from its main mode to add the second, and even without evoke it would have been a good card.
My favorite removal spells are the ones with with extra oomph, like Trostani's Judgment, Fumarole, and Silumgar's Command. Nobody wants to pay that much for removal, but I've had really good experiences with all those cards. Trostani's Judgment is particularly underrated, though it's too slow for the typical cube.
Shriekmaw's great and it'll be an odd day if it ever finds itself on the chopping block.
Favorite kill spell in cube is Dismember for the cost flexibility, although I'm waiting on the day where I get to play Goblin Welder in the robot mirror and have it kill a Sundering Titan or whatever.

Shriekmaw is a great card. It's been in every version of my cubes and I don't foresee myself creating a cube where this doesn't have a home. It's splashable, cheap removal that doubles as a threat. Has synergy with the yard since it self bins, much like Boneshredder does. In lower powered lists, ETB value cards like this one can cause balance problems in volume. So there are builds where this won't be optimal.
I think my favorite kill spell is Vindicate since it has no target restrictions. I run bouncelands too, and it's a wicked tempo play when used against those. Even without a bounceland, it's possible to use it for mana denial. Combos nicely with black discard in this capacity since you can see what they have in hand before you commit to that strategy.
I love Shriekmaw, and I'm not ashamed to say I've first picked it plenty of times. It's efficient early, it's great value late, and because it bins itself it's easy to abuse with recursion. If it ever gets outclassed and replaced in cubes, it'll be a really strange day for MTG.
-What is your favorite kill spell in cube?
Probably Song of the Dryads, because it hits just about everything, and it's in a color you don't usually expect such versatile removal from while still being flavorful.
-What's the most scared you've ever been?
Being on the 36th floor when an earthquake hit. The quake only lasted a few minutes, but the building swayed back and forth a lot longer. That's how earthquake resistant buildings are supposed to work, but it was absolutely terrifying at the time.

I support the artifact.dec, and Metalworker puts in some ...work... there.
I do like metal! From old school stuff like Metallica, to more progressive metal like Tool to even some screamier stuff like Cradle of Filth; I like a lot of the metal & hard rock genres. I was just at the Gojira/Avenged Sevenfold/Metallica show earlier this month in Phoenix. It was .
I don't think Metalworker is something that my cube could support. Seems pretty busted if you have a high artifact count though.
I love me some metal, I don't know if I have a favorite genre within it though. With black metal I tend to go for the classics like Immortal or the more experimental stuff like Meads of Asphodel or Sigh. For Power Metal I'll go with Blind Guardian or Rhapsody (of FFIIIIRRRREEEEEEE). Stoner metal I like Bongzilla, Sleep or Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats (more the rock side). I used to listen a ton of metal but I have been listening to a lot more prog rock over the past few years so I've fallen behind on the "cool new band" front.
Lately I have been listening to a lot of Opeth again because I got my housemate into them and there is a gig coming up. I recently went to see Sun O))), that was an interesting experience.
I might be interested in Metalworker if it weren't expensive. I've been looking to increasingly support artifact strategies. Still, I don't think my cube could really reach the density required to make Metalworker reliably work metal.
I really like proto-metal from the 60's and 70's: Black Widow, Uriah Heep, Coven, Lucifer's Friend, and of course Black Sabbath. Fun fact: Coven was the first band to use the devil horns in shows.
I have seen metalworker act busted on MTGO Vintage cube. I don't think he would work in my cube, I think it can work well in cubes that meet 2 conditions:
1) Power
2) Directly support artifact decks.
Even in cubes that have both, I think you have to be going pretty deep on the artifacts to make it work.
I used to play a lot of guitar hero, so like some of the music from listening to that.
Oddly, I have sort of been in an anti-music mode the last 2 years or so and would rather list to a book on tape than music.
Metalworker is super powerful if you can make him work... so to speak. You do have to be in the artifact deck to want him, but you can get him to regularly tap for four or more mana, he's a good man.
I've been into rock/metal music since I was like five listening to Motley Crue and AC/DC. My latest actual metal obsession is the most recent Amon Amarth album. That viking metal is so badass!
Never tried Metalworker and I've always assumed it was really only playable in powered cubes. Am I right with that assumption? Seems disgusting when it works out though haha.
And no metal for me, more of a Trap and Cloud Rap guy myself.
I avoided using metalworker for years for the fear that it needed a higher artifact density. Turns out this is false. Usually packing him + four mana rocks or so is enough. I've seen that combination been played in green ramp decks even, as it is so strong. The card is P1P1 material.
I love metal, especially power metal, symphonic metal and progressive metal. I have even been to a metal festival a couple of years ago in Germany. Two recent albums that I have liked are Ayreon - the source and Epica - Beyond the Matrix.
Never been a huge fan of Metalworker. In theory he's awesome but he dies to literal everything and sometimes you can't use him to his full potential when you untap. That being said, tapping for 4+ is pretty insane.
Used to like it more, but now I get migraines too easily from it, womp womp
I play thraben, and it's exactly what I expected: not spectacular, but totally solid. I don't know at what size I'd recommend it, but it fits into pretty much any white deck so I highly recommend trying her out if you haven't already.
I've waned interest in mtg many times, but to date never completely quit.
Thraben Inspector is very well designed. Pretty much any white deck is happy to play it. It's especially good in midrange/control - offering an early speed bump and a cantrip later when there's mana (also random synergy with artifacts, tinker etc). But even agro is happy with this card. Particularly good in WW with anthems where it becomes Kird Ape that cantrips later after the wrath hits. I think it goes in cubes of all sizes on power merit unless you have a design reason for excluding it. My 2 cents.
I quit the game shortly after Lorwyn. Mythics and an increasingly unreasonable secondary market just made the game too costly for most of the people I played with. What brought me back was Cube and as far as I'm concerned it's the only version of Magic that is still good.
I've not tried Thraben Inspector in cube, but I do like the card. I just couldn't see cutting a two power guy to make room for it.
I've quit playing a couple times. Once right after Mercadian Masques as I started my senior year in high school. A couple of my friends brought me back around Invasion the following year, though. After that I quite again just after Onslaught and stayed out until Time Spiral. I've not quit since then, but I haven't played constructed or tournament Magic in several years and pretty much only cube at this point.
I investigated Thraben Inspector extensively during SOI limited, and really liked it there, but I think it's just a bit too clunky and low impact for cube. It's close, though.
I've quit playing a couple times. Once right after Mercadian Masques as I started my senior year in high school.
I was really into retail limited during Rath and Urza's blocks, and the sudden switch to the very underpowered Mercadian Masques made me lose interest in Magic too. I stayed out of the game much longer, though, as I moved to Korea and had no idea anyone even played here for the longest time (I'm not sure if I'd've wanted to play then even if I'd known about the MTG scene here when I first came). I didn't get back into the game until Gatecrash.

Thraben Inspector is pretty subtle, and you almost always get your value out of her. She's got a permanent home in my cube.
I quit from around Planeshift to Alara after a period of dwindling interest. I rediscovered my collection when mold struck my basement in high-school, and I eventually accepted the new cards. I hated creature creep, and the new card face, but I loved hybrid mana.
Inspector never wowed me. It definitely plays better than it looks, but that's still not incredible.
I've never really quit magic completely since I picked it back up from my childhood, but I stopped playing standard pretty much after my first big rotation after having to stomach the fact that I'd have to re-do everything everytime the format changes.
I'd rather have 2 power 1 drops in cube.
I think in artifact cube I could give her a shot.
Technically I quit right after Masques Block, as the last deck I built was a Rebel Deck with Lin Sivii.
I returned Time Spiral when I built a few casual decks after that, Storm, Rogues, Kiln Fiend, Burning Vengeance, Valakut, but only played casually and very very infrequently (probably played each deck less than 10 times). I found out that it didn't work out, I did not have the time to play at that level.
So right now I have permanently "quit" Magic by selling most of may cards and building the cube. I find it the perfect format for me as a collector and can play infrequently without having to catch up with the meta - as I have my own.
