I'm at a point in my cubing where lots of my expensive cards came from old finds. I'm in the process of turning some that are irrelevant for cubing into things that are good for cube, like Dark Depths for Sneak Attack and Natural Order and whatnot. Is Ancestral Vision something I could feasibly do that with? We've only drafted maybe half a dozen times and I'm not sure I've ever seen it cast. I run Dig and Cruise, too. I'd love to trade a $50 card if the effect is sufficiently replaceable by other cards. Plus I'm sure it'll get reprinted in MM3.

I like Ancestral Visions much more than Treasure Cruise actually. TC is very rarely cast for U here even in the late game, and as a late draw spell costing around 2U the effect is highly replaceable (for example the Jace of your choice) while Visions offers blue control a play on turn one.
Various cubes run this, most notably unpowered ones. Sometimes 5 mana can be a lot to ask for extra turns, and other times you'll pay any cost to go again.
-Do you run Time Warp? At what size?
-Would you play Time Warp if it cost 4? 3? 2? (lol)
-Jump to the left or step to the right?
I also like Visions much more than Cruise, seems like I'm agreeing with Metamind a lot lately.
I do not like Time Warp in Cube. IMO it needs to be 4 or less to run in most Cube decks. I think almost all Cubes would Cube it at 3 mana, and maybe only large Cubes would play it at 4. This brings up another interesting point though - Time Walk. Time Walk is certainly a top blue card, but a few months ago my playgroup realized that it's probably acceptable in an "unpowered" environment. Since we added it, Time Walk has been a popular card in my 720 "unpowered." While it is certainly a top pick, it's not even close to being THE best card in my Cube.
It really depends how abusable timewalk is in your cube. In a format with ways to recur it, timewalk is definitely broken and one of the best cards in the cube. In 720 I doubt you get that much redundancy as regrowth effects aren't really that good outside of the top tier.
In regards to time warp, I think this effect would need to cost four or less for me to consider it, 2U would be a staple at any size, 3U probably as well, 2UU I'm not sure about. I much prefer the tidal wave to the spooky guy and his reflection.
It seems like a bit of a win more effect at that cost - there is a limit on how many five drops a deck can play, even if they are "free" once you reach that point. I'm hopeful someone who actually plays them would reply here.
I do play Time Walk and it is among the highest picks in the cube. At three mana it would be an autoinclude and likely also good enough but not overpowered at four mana.
There are windows where an extra turn is just back-breaking (hugely advantageous and/or open combat, planeswalker activations, etc) where the cost is negligible because the effect is so good. There are other windows where you're only leveraging a small advantage and/or simply using it to break serve. It's in those second cases where the difference between Time Walk and Time Warp is colossal.
I don't play Time Warp (or any of the multiple functional reprints of it) at 540 powered. I always wanted to see the effect at 1UUU with some kind of random added bonus.
Probably one mana too much in most power focused cubes.
I ran Temporal Mastery for awhile, but that was terrible if you couldn't miracle it. Time Warp though I think would be good in my meta as a top end Ux tempo deck finisher. Get a board position where you are swinging favorably. Time Warp gives you another free swing, plus another card, maybe another land and all your mana back to do something else. In the right deck, it probably wins the game for you better than any other 5 drop you could play. It is also distinctly blue in flavor, so there's that appeal.
I may end up testing it in that role. It also seems potentially filthy in a big mana deck with Archaeomancer and Snapcaster Mage.
I like Time Warp a lot. Big rampy blue decks like it, and in my unpowered cube it's a key piece in some of the infinite combos (Soulfire Grand Master or Crystal Shard & Eternal Witness). That kind of of thing tends to blow new players minds the first time they see it.
I actually think this card would be okay as a Dark Petition-style card. It's not the low mana cost that really makes Time Walk so powerful, it's the ability to cycle it for an Explore effect in the early game OR Time Warp in the late game.
Time Walk itself can be busted 10+extra actions to a simple Explore. This kind of unique effect really makes you question "how much is a Time Walk" actually worth mana wise. Time Warp itself is a decent card and not the worst price you can pay for this effect. Unfortunately, it has STIFF competition in the blue spell slot, having to compete with Bribery / Treachery / Mystic Confluence. I do feel that Time Warp does get better over time with more efficient creatures / planeswalkers to play with though.
Probably one of my favorite card names as I’ve always been a fan of that kind of ***** (Kill Bill is one of my favorite movies, for example), BSK is a house and fits in most of the black creature-based archetypes. He’s aggressive, he recurs, and he’s soaked in blood.
-Do you run the champ? At what size?
-How soaked in blood are you?
-Planning on taking a shower? Cause it’s kinda gross.
-As an actual aside, are we at critical mass for 2 power 1 drops in black? Which are you notably not running?
Who wouldn't? Outside of zombie tribal sections where Gravecrawler thrives, Mr. Bloodsoaked is doubtless black's best 1 drop. He can even trigger his own raid trigger! I guess it's unfortunate that you can't recur him without other (attacking) creatures in play – a clear disadvantage to Bloodghast, but that's a 2 drop, and how much more could you want really?
Love the cardname and art. I run it at 360 and prefer it to Carnophage and Diregraf Ghoul by a long margin. It's great in aggro and in pox builds.

I think Bloodsoaked Champion should be a staple even if you don't explicitly push black aggro with Carnophage and friends. It's a shame that it's not in the Vintage Cube. My biggest complaint with the Vintage Cube is the black section being super janky.
I have so many complaints about the vintage cube. Like, it's fun because it's cube and cube is inherently fun, but some of the card inclusions and such are absolutely insane. Like, is Leyland of Sanctity needed? Why are some SOI cards included but other great ones not? Do you really need every Eldrazi? WHY IS MISCALCULATION REPEATEDLY SNUBBED?!
Though I have to say, I'm leaning towards adding Progenitus to my own cube, as Natural Ordering/GSZ/Tooth and Nailing it out has been awesome.

Progenitus is great in my Cube; I definitely recommend it.
I like original Ob PW. He's probably now the 3rd best black PW (was 2nd but probably dethroned by new Lili). Ob shines most in control builds with lots of sweepers, particularly ones that his demons survive like Languish and Wildfire.
As far as black 5-drops goes, he's definitely #2 since everything else is so inconsistent so I'd probably cube him all the way down to 360:

Don't play Warp at 525 unpowered, and don't think we would at 900 -- 5 is too much for this effect, really. Would test at 4, slam dunk at three.
