havent gotten to test nissa yet but she is in my list. i think she will do great. she can clog up the board pretty well and the -2 ability can do some serious work. I expect her to stick around.
I have a small "bonsai" tree. its actually two types of ginseng that have been grafted together to make it look like a bonsai. Then I have a couple cacti that I have had since I was in grade 7! thats all for plants.
I don't want an oversaturation of planeswalkers and I am happy with having 2.
I don't think she is better than these (the one upside is the 3 casting cost since my green 3 drops is sort of a weak spot right now).
anyone make a case she is better than relentless? I don't think she is? I don't have a lot of experience with her though to be certain.

I couldn't see cutting either of those green walkers for Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, but then again I've never tried running her, either. Curse of Predation fills the anthem role better and if I needed another I think I'd run Gaea's Anthem instead. Maybe I'm wrong? I'm actually surprised by the entusiasm I'm seeing for this incarnation of Nissa.
The last plants I had in my home were a window box of tomato plants and cat grass, both of which were brutally murdered by the last friend who housesat for us. We're waiting for spring to re-plant.

I have OG Garruk and Relentless. I'm pretty happy with them as my mainstays in mono green right now.
As for Tooth and Nail... Yeah, that's a card. I built a B/G deck around it with Mephidross Vampire and Triskelion for infinite critter killing combos. Didn't work that well, but was kinda funny when it went off.
Carpentry. I do some woodwork around the house every now and then.

You might be less surprised if you tried her. Three mana walkers which reliably land on turn 2 in a lot of the decks it shows up in and then works well with certain green strategies turn out to be pretty damn good. Planes walkers you can land early are just really strong since you gain that much more incremental value out of the activations, and a green planes walker is inherently going to land sooner than others on average. I wouldn't say it's better than those two either, but it's certainly better than I thought it would be.

Big Tooth and Nail fan. My favorite combo is Emrakul + something that gives it haste (conscripts, Surrak)
It looks like a great card, and since I support ramp and Sneak & Show decks I'd love to try it, but it's at that price point where I'd rather trade for it and I just haven't seen it in a binder lately.
I just put together a laptop desk, so I've been involved in carpentry more recently.

I have been eyeing up a jitte for a long time now and i think I will finally get one after my next pay cheque. Seems like the best non-sword equipment and fits in pretty much any deck with s decent number of creatures. I guess the downside is it need to connect once to get online but it seems like once you do it snowballs from there.
I would pronounce it "Gee-Tay" but I have heard its more like "Jeet".
_______________
Tooth and Nail loots like a lot of fun, I put Incoming! into my cube for a bit of an experiment and it has sucked so far so I will proabaly replace it with Tooth and Nail when I get a chance.
I pronounce it as "jit-tee" so we can say *****ty jitte. That's probably censored, but you get the idea. That's probably not correct, but I definitely don't care.

No need to connect, it triggers off of any combat damage.
I find the promo art funny. Dude has another sword, but he doesn't even bother drawing it and keeps his second hand free. Who needs a second weapon when you hold Jitte?
We pronounce gee-teh
Best equipment and one of the best cards in the cube. It's just so ridiculous that you get 2 counters per hit but only need 1 for your choice of effect. It's just disgusting once you get going. For extra shenanigans, put it on a creature with first strike or double strike.
We say jee' tay or sometimes jitty.
I only recently put Tooth and Nail back in my cube. It's made a few decks but I personally haven't seen it resolve. I have high hopes.
I most recently was involved in carpentry, despite not being at all handy. I had to modify a fish tank stand to fit my brand new saltwater tank. It's all set up and I'm waiting for my live rock to be delivered today. Fish and corals come next week. I think I've finally discovered a hobby that will drain my bank account faster than M:tG.
How much worse would Jitte be if you needed to hit a player? I get it would be a lot (read: strictly) worse, but just how much of its power come from it triggering any damage. How about if it only triggered off damage to creatures? (giving it some weird form of evasion)
Even the fact that it doesn't need to be equipped to remove counters seems a bit off to me. There just seem like so many little ways this card could have been weaker than the monster it is.
Just trying to understand the card and stir up a bit of discussion beyond "Jitte is good" since its hard to find a fault with it.
That's an interesting question, I imagine a decent amount worse but that still might be good enough considering how far the quality of jitte could drop and still be stellar. Though, what if my opponent can chump block the Jitte? Is it even doing anything there in those scenarios if we have this hypothetical builds? Would Swords without protection but potential delays on their triggers be good? That last question might be apples to oranges, but it's definitely an interesting question when looking at design in terms of mistakes and how much needs to be reduced to still have a good card.
Only in Magic is a dagger better than any sword, warhammer, ax... literally any other weapon you can give to a creature.
So if you have a combo cube or just a really large amount of cheap instant speed creature removal, Jitte can underperform. Most cubes though, it's P1P1 level good. I won't run this in my midrange cube. It's too good there.

Yea I still think it would make the cut no problem for my cube; I'm also of the opinion I could fit one or two of the swords without protection in though and run loxidon warhammer FWIW.
In the builds where they can chump, then yea it's worse and is no longer an incredibly back breaking card and is now just a very strong one. But from a gameplay angle it creates a bit more tension since there is blocking decisions to be made, decisions on who to equip it to, more decisions on when to use the counters etc. With some restrictions you would have to think more about it rather than just sticking it on anything and swinging.
I feel like it would be a less powerful, but better designed card that is more fun for both players, if it had just a restriction in some way.
It is a fun topic to look at and I think Jitte is proabaly the better examples of a card that could be powered down a bit but still be unique and cube worthy. I would like to see a "fixed" jitte as the idea of equipment that lets you bank triggers is fun.
Same vein of conversation but different card--what if Skullclamp only drew 1 card? Would it still be oppressive? Obviously not to the same degree, but is drawing 1 off of clamp activations still insane?
I ran Jitte in my 360 unpowered for a little while, then quickly cut it. It was a little too boring to play since it was p1p1, p2p1, and p3p1 for all drafters.
It is a good card though, and if I ever ran power I would put it back in my cube in a jitt. (see, it's a bad pun)
It's stuuuuuupid pushed. Back when kamigawa was in, I remember everyone played jitte. Even if they didn't have creatures set up to swing with it, just to counter the other guy's jitte. Part of that was what killed my desire to play for a few years. Jitte and affinity. Everywhere. As such, affinity and jitte are things I won't run in my cube. Ruined the game for me.
I pronounce it Sh*t-te. I have anger issues.
