I don't run Visionary. If it were a 2/1, I'd consider it. I actually cut Wall of Blossoms a few updates ago, too, because having a green creature that can't attack or ramp seemed out of place in my cube.

Elvish Visionary is a good source of CA in the elf deck (nice interaction with wirewood symbiote). Not presently running it but it's one of a few cards I like to bring in time to time. Satyr Wayfinder is the more generically useful version I think (sadly not an elf though). Wayfinder is especially nice if you have a lot of graveyard support/interactions.
I was surprised to see Elvish Visionary come up in CTA 720, it's too low impact to even make the cut in my peasant cube much less my unpowered. If I were looking for another cantrip creature in green besides Wall of Blossoms I'd probably cube Carven Caryatid or Civic Wayfinder.
For anything cube related, this forum is where I turn for guidance. For anything teaching or Korea related, I have a friend who's been teaching for about a decade longer than me who always has solid advice. For everything else, there's Google.

I recently added Elvish Visionary. Still no results, but the rationale is there is a high demand for cheap green creatures that provide value outside of their body. Decks with Natural Order want to maximize the amount of low drop green creatures, Gaea's Cradle loves them, you want something to pitch to Survival of the Fittest and just another body for Craterhoof Behemoth and Garruk ultimates is handy. You can always dump Visionary into the board with no care about mass removals. Just playing it turn two to block and be able to get it back the turn after with Eternal Witness is nice.
Even better in B/G. It is a painless sac fodder for braids and skullclamp, cheap value target for Meren and Heretical Healer and is even a good target for Recurring Nightmare. Just having an early blocker against aggro or a body to hold equipment is often highly useful, as seen with Thraben Inspector.
I like avacyn's pilgrim a lot. Sometimes it doesn't work if you need 1GG for your next turn, but ramp is ramp and there are a lot of white cards I want to splash/play. Also it's a human which is/could be relevant depending on your cube make up and future printings.
I prefer all the other mana producing G creatures over the pilgrim. It does have a sweet foil promo.
Two main strikes against pilgrim for me are:
1. GW is one of the least drafted color combinations in my list, so this is often just boreal druid with a less useful creature type.
2. It's not an elf so has zero synergy with that deck.
I'm running 5 G mana creatures at 360 in my combo list and the same number in my larger midrange list (which is drafted differently).
I don't run Avacyn's Pilgrim, but I've considered it often.
I'm currently running 6 mana dorks that cost G. When Noble Hierarch gets a reprint and comes down in price, I'll add that, too.

Making only W mana makes it a bit worse that Llanowar Elves and company for most decks, but if you need more one-drop mana dorks or a budget placeholder for Noble Hierarch this is better on average than Boreal Druid or Elves of Deep Shadow. I ran it for quite a while before I had a Noble Hierarch, and it saw plenty of play in non-Selesnya decks. It's only a buck to pimp it out with the FNM foil, so that's what I ran.
I'm currently running 7 1-drop mana dorks in my green section at 450.

I would argue Elves of Deep Shadow is better because the color combination is more in the market for the effect. T1 play into a T2 swamp + 1BB card is a thing while I feel like the GW equivalent really isn't. That's just my 2 cents though. YMMV.

Agree with this for the most part.
I heard that Pilgrim tried to get into Hierarching, but for that gig he was not noble enough to be deserving of the exaltation of his peers, so now he just wanders around making white mana where he can.

It's ironic that someone so green is feeling so blue, and yet that's the cause to all his problems.
I've been impressed. 3 mana planes walkers that do things are good, and this one is better since in a lot of decks it's landing turn 2, much more consistently then the other 3 mana walkers due to being green. While the plants aren't the best, they are blockers, and when you can benefit off the negative it feels super rad. There have been a few games where it's +1 -2 -2 and that turns out to be enough to crush a lot of boards.
I have some plants in my house, though I want more. Have some little cacti but now that Im settled in a little more Im looking to get some mainstays.
She hasn't been great in generic green decks, but in decks designed around tokens and anthems, she's been great. If the shell can reliably make her 0/1 tokens be worthwhile AND there's enough other token-making cards to make her +1/+1 counter ability hit lots of cards, she's fantastic. In other decks, she's pretty easy to cut. She's good enough in the decks she shines in that I'm happy having her around though... she's really good in token decks.
I like Nissa since she gives green really good footing for token support. Being a green 3-cmc planeswalker is really nice since she can land on turn 2 and can protect herself. Not a fan of her in generic green midrange decks, I'll only slot her outside of token shells if I'm desperate for Natural Order fodder.
Also worth noting, her Duel Deck art is pretty awesome.
I don't really mind the cost. Most of the green decks we see can produce XGG by the time they can produce 3 mana. In another color it might be more of an issue, but not really in green.
I've been a fan of Nissa since day 1 as a way to stall the game and have some late-game inevitability by pumping your team. Like Rishkar, she's better in green-based that can go wide (I've yet to see her ultimate yet, but that could be because her -2 is really nice) and while it's a worse minus than Ajani Goldmane, she's cheaper and in a color that can (and does) get her out on turn 2.
It is kind of awkward that her tokens can't turn the corner on their own, but I've found that she's still fine as a generic green walker.
I don't have any plants, but I have a decent amount of Bellsprouts. I use Bulbasaurs and Oddish pokemon card tokens as my plant tokens in cube.
I like Nissa quite a bit, for all the reasons mentioned previously.
Sometimes the casting cost is maddening though when I'm building a Selesnya token deck with so many great token cards the are very white intensive. It makes the quest to draft fixing for the deck an exasperating affair!
