What acts as a vortex that sucks up all your time and attention?
Hoo boy, I get to vent about this here....
I'm the head of planning for my ten year high school reunion and it has eaten up way more time than I planned. Being the defacto head of the committee (which shouldn't have been 6 people, but whatever), I'm the target of people who disagree with the dates proposed. We collected data via some polls and narrowed it down to two dates, we threw a poll asking which date(s) DON'T work for you, or both dates work for you. One of the dates only had 3-4 people saying they couldn't go, so we went with that date.
Next day I'm playing a jazz brunch and check my phone between sets to see a novel of a Facebook message from a classmate trying to convince me to find another date because she can't make that date. I responded later that I didn't want to move backwards and annoy everybody with extreme data collection to "find a more ideal date for everyone." One of our polls was Summer vs Fall reunion and summer won. Summer is a huge pain in the ass because it's wedding season, finding a date that works for everyone is literally rolling the dice walking around a landmine field. Some people just want us to plan the world around them. I recently heard a few weeks ago from more than one mutual friend that she messaged her and a bunch of other friends to all gang up on me to try and convince me to change the date. None of them did, but a few of them brought it to my attention and that really pissed me off.
I just booked the venue today and am posting a save the date tomorrow in the FB group, crossing my fingers there won't be some revolt from one or two people. But hey, if they want to pay the $450 cancellation fee (the reservation is under my name / credit card) and rally everybody behind you and start planning from square one, they can be my guest.
Vortex is one of two cards that makes me go mono red/red aggro when I see it, the other being Goblin Guide. It's just so good.
Been drafting after work every day on xmage. Magic tends to dominate a lot of my time.

@steve man, ***** like that is why I've avoided most of my classmates since graduation!
Sulfuric Vortex is still really good, but now far from my favourite red card. I think of it like a 2/2 unblockable haste for 3 that also hits me every turn (and which also takes different removal to remove) - a decent aggro card all in all, and something that helps pull me into the archetype. The lifegain clause is definitely relevant. I like the old frame on this one.
I didn't get why cube managers loved Sulfuric Vortex when I first saw it, as a Fireball or Lava Axe would close out a game much further so much of the time. Cube red aggro decks can usually put on a lot of pressure in the early game, but if they don't seal the deal in the first 4 turns control and midrange decks have a lot of ways to stabilize. A resolved vortex is a pretty quick clock that's hard to interact with once it resolves, and makes stabilization nearly impossible. The inevitability that it gives red aggro is what's given it the #1 slot for red in the Power Rankings for several years running.
Sulfuric Vortex is still really good, but now far from my favourite red card.
I wouldn't say it's far from my favorite card, but as a dediated aggro card it's important to recognize that it's narrow. My favorite red card is easily Lightning Bolt, which is still excellent in all the decks that want Vortex, and is also a super efficient removal for any other deck that can make red mana. If I open Bolt and Vortex in the same pack, I'm always taking the Bolt, but I'll be hoping to wheel the Vortex as a signal RDW's open.
I'm running a Conspiracy foil because it was a gift, but I agree the old frame looks much better.
Following US politics in the news has also been my Sulfuric Vortex, it's been such a trainwreck I just can't look away.
There are some opening hands that go from garbage to great because of the presence of a Chrome Mox. It's card disadvantage, but that can easily be outweighed by the additional tempo boost it creates. I'm a fan.
It's a good card that can find a slot if the 'broken' fast mana isn't being run, otherwise the competition is probably a bit stiff. It's definitely one of the safer fast mana cards. It ramps and 'fixes', although often you will end up dispensing with an off-mana card that you couldn't have played, for a Mox Crystal of sorts.
I've been a fan of Chrome Mox for quite some time, since the Standard era it first appeared in. Original art all the way. I don't like any of the others, honestly.
For most browsing, I use Chrome. We have a few things at work I use IE/Edge to do, but it's almost always Chrome.
Chrome Mox is a good card. I like Diamond Mox a little better in most decks though. Discarding a land (for an all-color mox) is generally easier to manage than exile a card you probably want to play (for limited colors). Depends though.
Browser of choice is probably Firefox, though I also use Chrome and Safari. Not really married to one in particular since each tends to work better with some site. No one browser works great everywhere.
Chrome Mox has been in and out of my cube. It's currently in and I'd give it a solid fine. The problem that I personally have with it is that I often don't want to pitch anything at all to it. I either have a hand full of goodies (not a bad problem to have) or the card I want to ramp out is the only card of that color in my hand. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.
My favorite art would be the Eternal Masters version if it were possible to move all my Moxen to Volkan Baga artwork. Since I can't, I give the nod to the original Mirrodin art. I'd also play the GP version over the Invention. I really dislike that art and that frame.
I use Chrome predominantly, mostly because of how nice it is for it to flow seamless across all my devices with my Google account. At work I do use IE 11 just because most of the apps we use are more compatible.
I think its a fair card, given you sac a card for the tempo boost.
I like the art with Karn in it. I would like the invention also, but I got the Hangarback Walker as the better representative,
as it is actually from Kaladesh.
I've found Chrome Mox to be very binary, while it can produce some very explosive starts, it's an even more miserable late game top deck than a basic land. Having to pitch a spell often hurts more than tossing a land to Mox Diamond. Still, in an unpowered cube the fast development Chrome Mox gets is hard to beat.
I'm running the EMA version, not only because I like the Volkan Baga art, but also because trading for it let me finally get rid of my World Championship Edition of it.

I love Necro, but we recently cut it for basically just being and expendable pet card of mine. If you can easily get to BBB in your deck, Necro is a house. I was always a big fan of throwing it into heavy black aggro shells.
I don't have any true card draw effects left in black of the Night's Whisper variety. Phyrexian Arena is my only card draw spell. And I'm of course running Dark Confidant and Griselbrand as well as Asylum Visitor and Glint-Sleeve Siphoner. To some extent Custodi Lich is kind of a source of card draw.
I really wanted Necropotence to work out in my cubel because it was the cornerstone of an iconic deck that dominated constructed in the early days of the game. However, triple black is a tough casting cost to make, and I saw it tabling and sitting in sideboards more often than not. It's a powerful card, but too narrow to see play in any but the blackest of decks with multiple sources of life gain.
When it was in my cube I ran the absolutely gorgeous Deckmasters old frame foil.
Right now, the only source of black card draw I'm running are Dark Confidant and Asylum Visitor. Perhaps that's a mistake? The most commonly cubed Necropotence updates like Phyrexian Arena and Bloodgift Demon have been a bit slow and clunky.

Predator was in my first cube. It's one of those cards that can be really strong in a matchup (too strong almost), or just this pedestrian no-frills flyer in others. It's a value card whose value is variable based on your cube composition and the matchup. My more recent cubes have had lower artifact/enchantment density and power levels, making cards like this a lot less valuable. It's especially hurt by being two colors since those slots are so few in number. Even in Simic which I think is a pretty weak guild, I doubt it's making many lists these days even in cubes that can really take advantage of the trigger.
Favorite Arnold Movie is Terminator (the original), though Predator is a close second. Honorable mention for Total Recall. It's not a great movie, but I really like it anyway. Oh and Conan, but mainly because the sound track is so damn good.
Been running Predator since the beginning. I'm considering going to a powered cube (been experimenting with a list on xmage) so it will most likely stay. It's good, and has the best nickname within our group. (My bro and friend Al have been calling him "Trygon Stupidface", and for some reason that just always sticks with me.)
Last Action Hero is one of the most underrated movies IMO. My favorite is T2, but I have to give a shout out to Last Action Hero. "Uh huh...uh huh...yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah...uh huh...uh huh...yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah..."
I love Trygon. I think it's the #2 or #3 card in the guild.
I'm not a huge Schwarzeneggar fan. I do love Conan the Barbarian, though. Really fun sword and sorcery movie. I'd love to see HBO or some other great network do a Conan series.
