I ran it for a while but there are more efficient options and it's un-respondable nature never really shined in my cube, it being able to hit recurring nightmare was nice though as it was on of the few answers other than countering it.
I always like the feel of the art on the split second cards, if my memory's correct it was running the promo foil when it was in my cube.
Randomly it would be awesome, but most of the time you prefer a Naturalize or one of the naturalize-on-a-stick creatures. Like this card is kind of embarrassing next to something like Reclamation Sage depending on your cube size, no that it does nothing but the Split Second is not relevant as often as the cost and lack of abusability is.
Recurring Nightmare is a dumb card and I think the overall most underrated card in cube. A lot of players don't understand how broken Nightmare as they don't fully understand cube is full of creatures Nightmare thoroughly abuse. I get that not every black deck can use it and it can make sense in a later pick to see it go late, but the amount of times it's passed in packs 1/2--either early or late--is kind of sickening.
Hero of Bladehold is another one of these surprising cards that seems to get no respect. Perhaps there is a fear of losing to the 1 for 1 doom blade, but requiring your opponents to absolutely need to have something when they untap is pretty bonkers. I've done streams and videos where I make the call that "the hero will probably wheel because for some reason it always does" and, like, ~60-70% of the time it comes back. Just absurd, as I've seen Hero win plenty of games on her own.

It's not underrated in my cube, since I've abused it a few times. RN is one of my favorite all time cards, and yes, it is absurdly powerful when abused. It's currently a top hate pick because I've been known to splash for it. And Steve_ice is right, you don't need a Grip to kill RN since the activation is sorcery speed.
That said, Krosan Grip does tend to typically be just a more expensive Naturalize especially in unpowered, but when it stops a Necropotence dead in it's tracks, it truly shines.
Right, I imagine people around here rate it properly, but whenever I play online it's not rare at all. And Steve_ice is right not because the activation is sorcery speed, but because part of the cost to activating the card is putting it into your hand so when you activate it there is no longer a target anymore and since you have priority as long as you don't make another action the Nightmare should never end.
...it being able to hit recurring nightmare was nice though as it was on of the few answers other than countering it.
It doesn't answer Recurring Nightmare any more than Naturalize does.

I guess it becomes a lot better in a powered environment but in unpowered the card is just so unexciting.
I don't agree with this. I think it's better in unpowered if anything. Powered cubes want faster answers. An argument could be made for Nature's Claim being better in powered cubes because you might want/need 1cc answers. Being uncounterable at the cost of being more expensive are traits that increase the value for slower cubes.
100% that. What is in a powered cube by t3/cmc3 that is exclusive to a powered format? Time Vault if your list runs it? Am I really punishing my opponent by destroying their sol ring or moxen with my 3-mana spell? It's just too slow for something you can't abuse.
Regrowth effects are great, getting two even more so, but on a 6-cost underpowered non-trampling body, it just didn't make the cut in decks in our environment. Ran for a while, then cut it after seeing almost zero play.
It's OK and fills in for there only being one good green 6 drop. It will be cut the moment green gets a better 6 drop, which hopefully will be next set. I might even cut it if green got another good 7 or 5 drop.
I like it well enough. A Restock is a pretty good deal when you can get a 5-power body strapped to it for 1 more. It might not stick around forever, but it's certainly a good 6-drop.
Serviceable enough to be the #2 green 6-drop creature but not so much that it's irreplaceable. Greenwarden is surprisingly good in Oath / Sneak Attack decks by being a semi-tutor with Oath and getting back a creature or two with Sneak Attack. Double / triple Natural Order is pretty easy to pull off with Greenwarden too. The only disappointing thing about him are his stats, +1/+1 and / or trample would have gone a long way for Greenwarden.
Ya, it would be pretty close to staple territory for me as a 5/5 trample. The trample and the extra toughness would really make it significantly stronger.
We'd been wanting another 6-drop with a sweet ETB, a so when this got printed we happily jammed it right in. Then a couple months later Great Oak Guardian came out, we decided we didn't need 3, and away went Greenwarden. GOG has been pretty phenomenal here, but if we didn't support twin or tokens I could see putting the Warden back in.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Playing this guy can make your opponent green with envy? I dunno, I got nothing else.
I couldn't come up with anything better than that.
I'm about to replace Greenwarden with Great Oak Guardian, too. Twin could use another target, and I like the idea of a cubable Overrun effect and combat trick. Greenwarden's been decent, but kind of unexciting, and I want my 6-drops to be exciting.

Whether you run it in red, black, or Rakdos, Cackler should be in your cube. It plays in probably 2/3 of the aggro decks making it one of the most versatile 1-drops available.
I've never seen the promo art before and it's mostly really good. I like the action and sense of motion on the original. Both are awesome.
It's a 2-power 1-drop that can be played in any aggro deck featuring either color. The versatility makes it a contender for one of the most flexible aggressive cards of all time.
I've first picked Rakdos Cackler before when I've really been in the mood to play aggro, you need to get that critical mass and this is one is always nice to see in your opening hand.
The art's sweet on both of them, but I like the original better because it features the glowing eyes and creepy facial expression better than the FNM promo. I have the FNM promo in my cube now, and I'm ordering the pack foil for my Peasant cube. I'm pretty sure it doesn't see any constructed play either, as it's really cheap to foil out either way. This card will probably never be outclassed in your cube, so if you pimp, you might as well foil it out.

I love Rakdos Cackler. I actually play black or red aggro so much in my cube, that my friends give me a hard time about it. Yesterday my friend posted a particularly tough P1P1 he got on CubeTutor to our Facebook group for discussion (Lotus, Mox Saph, Twist, Nightmare) that happened to also include Cackler in the pack. The first comment on the thread from one of my friends: "Brandon probably windmills the Cackler. lol" I really do love this little guy. He goes into pretty much all of my favorite decks. Stone cold staple.
As for the art choice, you can't really go wrong as both are sweet. I'm currently running a promo foil.
In this case, doesn't playing devil's advocate mean arguing for Rakdos Cackler?
I know not everyone here classifies hybrids as anything other than gold, but I make allowances for hybrid cards because I like what they bring to cube. This means that I'll keep running Cackler I can replace all of my red and black 1-drops that are worse than Rakdos Cackler. This includes all of the red one drops that you can't count on to ever attack for 2 like Village Messenger and Goblin Glory Chaser, and all of the 1-drops that straight up hurt you just for playing them with no real upside like Carnophage, Jackal Pup, and Sarcomancy. In other words, when the 1CMC section of my red and black sections looks a lot more like it does in my white section I might not need Cackler.
They've been coming out with more good 1-drops lately, so it might not actually be that long.

In this case, I really have no idea. I've never tried this card. The art in that Duels of the Planeswalkers promo foil kinda makes me want to try it, and it's a lot more budget-friendly then a lot of blue finishers.
