I replaced Flame Slash many years ago for Mizzium Mortars and never looked back. This card is very good though, providing mono red a much need tool to combat high toughness bombs.
The burn spell I play the most is Izzet Charm... Always tend to splash for it, because I just can't refuse all of those awesome options!
I love Flame Slash and cannot foresee myself cutting it. It has a very high inclusion rate in decks, although it can sometimes be sided out against creature light decks if you have enough normal burn.
Never cubed with Flame Slash, but I did run Mizzium Mortars. Being able to hit players / planeswalkers is big game.
The burn spell I play most is probably Arc Lightning / Flames of the Firebrand, I play a lot of Grixis decks where red is the tertiary color so those two sit at a nice spot.
Yesterday:
I push tokens as an archetype that can span all five colours, so Purphoros is a key red card to support those decks. He is good enough in those situations even if he is unlikely to manifest as a creature.
I am an atheist, but dislike the more militant approach of Dawkins, Hitchens, etc. Live and let live.
It reflects well on this forum that someone can ask a question like that and we don't find the thread locked half an hour later.
Today:
Only hitting creatures keeps Flame Slash out of my cube. If I ran Planeswalkers the card would be even more frustrating.
Magma Jet is probably the most played burn spell in my deck: the scry is universally useful whatever the archetype. Blast From the Past is my favourite burn spell, but that's a different question.
@Cuttups I'm enjoying your playlist. Nice to hear Heartbeats by The Knife. I have it on my Originals playlist, which has a corresponding Covers playlist.

Not hitting planeswalkers keeps Flame Slash out of my cube as well, but it's such an efficient removal spell that I don't think my cube would have to be much bigger before I gave it serious consideration. It's fine in my Peasant cube, where not hitting walkers isn't an issue.
Burst Lightning seems to make its way into my decks most often, I think my drafters underrate it.

I didn't think a lot of GDD when it was spoiled, but I threw it in there as a third five drop for a test and was really impressed. It's like a build-your-own FTK - the 4/4 Menace is a really relevant body, and getting most cheap sorcery or instant cards adds up to very good value for the five mana investment. Whether grabbing a random burn or draw spell, or something busted like a Council's Judgment. I like it as a big body for the spells-matter or counterburn decks which also nets you a spell trigger or recurs a random spell for value. Cool card.
Goblin Dark-Dwellers is a really solid 5 drop. I like these types of build your own ETB effect type creatures, though this is nowhere near as busted as Arcane Savant (I was on the receiving end of Savant in Upheaval mode last weekend - owch). GDD is pretty much a fat sorcery speed Snapcaster in red, which is nothing to complain about in my books.
I've never tried running Goblin Dark-Dwellers, but if I ever cut Kiki-Jiki/Twin combo package, this seems it would be my top candidate for Kiki-Jiki's spot. The Buy-a-Box foil art looks pretty sweet, too.
My favorite Goblin in cube is Goblin Heelcutter, it's let me squeak out a lot of wins in games that were starting to turn against me. My favorite Goblin of all time is Mogg Fanatic, it may be outclassed for cube now but it was my favorite turn 1 play in so many of the decks I played when I first started building my own decks that could actually win. It's still hanging in there in my Peasant cube, but it's just a matter of time before power creep pushes it out of that cube as well.

If I felt like I needed another red 5-drop, this would be up for consideration, although I'd probably be more likely to add Kiki-Jiki. There's probably room for GDD once you hit 630 cards or maybe 540 depending on cube configuration.
I'm not currently running GDD but I do like him, he's probably red's 4th best 5-drop creature behind SGC / Hellkite / Conscripts. I'm currently running Kiki-Jiki but I may swap it out in the future for GDD, I really like build your own ETB cards.
Favorite goblin? Mogg Fanatic, long live damage on the stack. 2/1 Mogg Fanatic variant with a drawback for one mana is definitely on my magic wishlist

Sometimes we run the fanatic with house rules of if mogg fanatic is in play, damage goes on the stack until the end of turn... you should give it a try
I assumed GDD was no good when it first came out but then I have run across it in the MTGO cube a few times and it keeps beating me! I really think its a good card but its like the 5th best red 5 drop after SGC, the dragon, the mirror breaker, and conscripts.

Yup! Mirror-Breaker is more of a choice, while Thundey and SCG are more mandatory. I cut Conscripts recently, it's not essential at 360 I don't think. If my cube was bigger and had another 5-drop slot, this would probably go in no question.

Nah, bending the rules to make a pet card more playable would not fly with the people I play with. Plus, cube is complex enough without adding house rules and errata. Since my playgroup is kind of a rotating cast of characters, I even exclude some cards with obscure abilities for not having reminder text on them, I really don't want to be adding extra complexity with house rules. Also, even though I was playing during the damage on the stack era, I'm not particularly nostalgic about that. I just dig the fact that he's a little guy that'll blow himself up to get in the last word.
I'm fine with Mogg Fantastic getting squeezed out of my cube, but it makes me smile to know that somewhere there's a cube where he's still being played exactly the same way he was in the '90s.

GDD is a card that I missed when it came out. It does look good, though I agree with others that it doesn't make the cut in most cubes.
I don't understand the flavour of the card. 4/4 is unusually large for a goblin, and that tribe is not usually known for manipulating magic.
My favourite goblin is Goblin Welder. The way it is usually played, the flavour text should be "I wrecked your ashtray, boss. But look! I made you a metal guy!"

I played Raise the Alarm before I got a copy of Secure the Wastes and it was fine. I find that I'm already deep enough on incidental token producers to play boring cards like this or Dragon Fodder or whatever. Tokens are almost too good already.
My alarms: newborn, cat, dog, phone, teacher nightmares.

I kind of like Raise the Alarm, especially in unpowered lists. With anthems it's a lot of P/T at instant speed, and is a good combat trick when you can trade with an X/1 and still have something left over. I wouldn't play it at the smallest size and wouldn't fault anyone for playing it at any size, but it's a solid card.
It's been literal years since an alarm woke me up. I set them every day--just in case--but I am *always* up before my alarm. It's partly my terrible shoulders (I have the arthritis of an 80-90 year old man in both shoulders--hooray!) and partly cause I'm neurotic and can't sleep if I know I have to wake up in a certain amount of time. Like, if I roll over with an hour left before my alarm goes off, I might doze off for a little bit but I'll shoot awake once I remember 'YOU HAVE TO BE UP IN 30 MINUTES'. It's partly good because I'm never late to anything due to sleep, but partly awful cause I don't get full nights of sleep ever.
It's a fine spell, but I still wish it were instant (I dunno, I must be greedy or something).
What burn spell do I play most often? In the peasant cube, Lightning Bolt. Accept no imitations! In multiplayer, probably RSZ.
