This card is really close for me. Because Magus of the Wheel actually has decent stats in a fairly weak slot, the fact that you can't count him surviving to Wheel isn't that bad because a Nessian Courser is a pretty decent fail case for beatdown decks that could also use a draw 7 to find that last burn spell to close out the game. Unfortunately, it testing it was a Courser so often as to be a disappointment. If it didn't need to tap to be activated, this card would probably be a staple even for the smallest of cubes.
I'd love to see a Magus of Standstill as a 2/1 body. The effect is so strong in tempo decks, it would be nice to see a version of it that could actually beat down or block in a pinch.

Timetwister is still good. Drawing 7 cards for 3 mana is good, and decks that empty their hands can use it as a way to both refuel and generate lots of card advantage in the process. I like it in UG ramp decks and tempo decks quite a bit.
12 Monkeys might be my favorite film about time travel. 11/22/63 was my favorite book about time travel. It's a tossup which one I prefer more ...leading towards King here.
Timetwister seems out of place on the P9 list. Wish it wasn't reserved and didn't have the power mystique so I could get my hands on a copy. I don't think it'd be out of place in an otherwise unpowered cube. Draw 7s are sweet.
Favorite time travel story is probably Slaughterhouse-Five, although the way I read it, there's no actual time travel.

For a while 12 monkeys was one of my favorite films period and that is one of the best King books too. Both of those are excellent picks.
Timetwister is still pretty busted. If your hand is effectively empty and your opponent's is not, Timetwister is a solution. It's absolutely great in UG and UR tempo builds.
Primer is my favorite time travel movie. It was done on a super low budget, but you don't miss the special effects because the story is so good. Repeated watching is recommended. 12 Monkeys, as mentioned, is also fantastic.
It's not super high-falutin' stuff, but I always loved The Time Team stories in 3-2-1 Contact magazine.
As far as the card, I agree with the idea that it's below the rest of the Nine in power. In an unpowered cube, is it much different than Wheel of Fortune? (Serious question, I haven't played with it before.)

I was going to ask exactly the same question. I was a bit surprised to see that Timetwister didn't get a single vote in the most recent Power Rankings.
My favorite time travel movie is easily Terminator, also one of my all-time favorite action movies, although Primer sounds really interesting and I'll be checking it out soon.

Timetwister's bustedness comes from shuffling your yard back into your library (which Wheel does not do). And the fact that it doesn't get exiled (unlike newer versions like Time Spiral).
I remember a six-player free-for-all a long, long time ago... me, four of my mates and a rampant tourney-level Spike who had half the jewelery and a deck full of brokenness. He saw he was suiting up against five others, and pulled out a Bant deck that was nothing but Island Sanctuary / Mystic Decree, with Control Magic and countermagic to stay afloat. And Timetwister and Regrowth to keep his deck rolling. That game lasted more than six hours. One guy conceded because he had to go home for tea.
Best time travel? How has no-one mentioned Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure yet? Anything that uses the concept of time travel to see Napoleon eating the Ziggy Piggy has to win, right?
It's an amazing card, and we're still talking wheels. It's been two days, and I haven't put any wheels in yet, partially because I have two wheel hungry EDH decks.
I honestly can say I'm not really a fan of most time travel stories, unless it's a total spoof story, like Bill and Ted's, because time travel usually brings up more questions than it answers, and makes a lot of the "thrill" irrelevant.
It's an amazing card, and we're still talking wheels. It's been two days
Storm-friendly cards like draw 7s and cantrips make up a lot of the cards that are unique to the Holiday Cube (check the middle column here, where I'm selecting the cards from), but here's one that you won't see in a storm deck anytime soon:
FWIW I run Timetwister in my unpowered cube and it doesn't feel busted. It's good in the ramp decks that show up and some blue control builds. Frankly I could cut it not miss it, but I like running it since you do have to work for it's full potential and its full potential is worth working for.
I play new Linvala as one of White's bigger bombs in my cube. Wx control decks love her, she's essentially a beefy Timely Reinforcements and makes for great comebacks.
There are a lot of awesome angels in MTG, but I have to go with a classic as a favorite: Akroma.
I've thought about this card while I wait around for an Elesh Norn to trade for.
My favorite angel is Angel of Invention. Love modal cards like that

Linvala, the Preserver seems decent as a white finisher for larger cubes or as a budget placeholder for Elesh Norn or one of the pricier 5-drops. It seems like it would shine in control and ramp decks as a creature that can really shine when you've fallen behind, which is exactly when it's most important to shine. The art's also fantastic. However, I think I'd rather run Angel of Serenity if I needed more top end in my white section, because it can do even more when you're behind on board.
My favorite angel in the game has to be Restoration Angel, it's so versatile.

i put linvala into my list but pulled her out before she got a draft in. She is right on the cusp of being an inclusion for me and one of the only reasons she isnt in is because captain of the watch is kind of a pet card for me.

Such a cool card. Infinite combos, blinks, ambushses, protects creatures. Powerful, versatile, splashable AND has a million synergies.

I defy you to come up with a pun for this Holiday Cube card....
Is that a challenge? Because I've got so many dad jokes in my arsenal, they'll leave you in a delerium...
I can't say I've ever tried Traverse the Ulvenwald out, but it's definitely enticed me. I want to pick a heap up on rotation.
Best hike is a tough question. Probably up Bluff Knoll (the tallest mountain in Western Australia, and about the only thing tall enough here to occasionally get snowed on). Of course, Australia's idea of mountains is nowhere near that of other continents...
Special snowflake time again: I've kept color fixing strictly out of green (it only ramps; artifacts are the mana fixers), so I barely looked at Traverse the Ulvenwald in terms of cubing. Certainly playable in larger cubes, especially if Delirium is easy attainable.
Best hike of recent memory happened last year in Ireland, through the Gap of Donloe. We had awesome weather and the sights were just fantastic.

I like the ritual idea. My magus would be Magus of Visions. 1cmc 1/1 tap and pay 3,sacrifice, draw 3.

I really have a thing for Stoic Angel. Just a well designed and balanced card. Tariel, Reckoner of Souls is also tons of fun in EDH.
