I like sky fisher, it just does a lot of small things well like bouncing ETB guys, only costing 1 if you missed a land drop, fixing your mana (if you need RR off 1 mountain), getting 2 planes walker activations (-X the walker, bounce, recast, +X the walker), save cards from the slower sweepers (disk, deed etc.), saving stuff from end of turn sacrifice triggers.
I don't know if it's a staple but it's a very useful card and is solid in a lot of decks.
I have never been fishing, it always seems appealing (a day in the sun smoking and drinking followed by a good feed) but no one I know fishes and I'm not very good at organising things so it has never happened. I think there are a lot of great spots nearby though, any time we camp there are allways fishers setting up when we wake up.
I like Skyfisher a lot. It can just be a cheap evasive beater or it can do some really cool things when combined with other cards, like Grim Monolith, Moxen, Mulldrifter, etc.
Being vegan, I don't fish. I like to get close to fish by snorkeling and diving.
I like skyfisher. Decent aggro card, evasive body, helps with ETB effects late. Can be a bottleneck early, though.
I'm not much for fishing. I see the draw it has for some people, but I just get bored sitting still for too long. Maybe if I had a lot of friends who liked fishing, and I liked drinking it would work out.
Lightning Helix is a solid and cost-effective burn spell. It's particularly strong against aggro, which makes this a great burn spell for slower boros decks or environments with a lot of aggro mirrors.
I think Helix is better now than when it was printed. Both because the environment is faster and the extra lifegain is more meaningful as a result and because of planeswalkers, there are rarely decks without targets for it to remove nowadays.
Sweet card, it would be hard to push it out of cube.
Rage is not the answer. Rage is the question. Yes is the answer.
Seriously though, I do think there are times where rage as an emotion is appropriate. Things like human rights violations are outrageous and should be recognized as such. Seeing human beings systematically mistreated should make another human being exceptionally angry. That said, I don't think unbridled rage should be allowed to govern the response.
It was good, and it's a historical cards for mtg. It's the reason why many people are against Boros Charm when it first came out because they refuse to cut this card XD.
I ran it for a while, and Lightning Helix is certainly powerful enough but a bit boring, and since there are plenty of 3 damage burn spells available in red this doesn't really seem necessary to me. I run Boros Reckoner over it. It's still doing fine work in my Peasant cube, but primarily because Boros is an unusually shallow guild for Peasant.
I'm running the Ajani vs. Nicol Bolas Duel Deck version in my Peasant cube because it's the version I happen to have on hand, although I do happen to prefer the art and flavor text on this version as well. The flavor text on the original is wordy and dull.

Well said. I think that sometimes it's too easy to normalize things that are truly worthy of outrage in the name of harmony.

Amazing in Storm, vary good in Reanimator. It's pretty medium in decks that don't utilize the graveyard though, so we ultimately cut it because it was too narrow.
I don't really like it tbh. There are better looting effects like Faithless and I don't support Storm in my cube. I don't think Reanimator is enough for this card.
The last thing I frantically searched for were all of the books I used to write a paper so I could make sure I cited them correctly.
I've never run this card. Blue has actual cantrips for card selection that don't lead to card advantage, and can be played a turn or two earlier, so this is pretty bad outside of reanimator decks that also include blue. Faithless Looting is as close to this as I want to run, and red decks really don't have better options for card selection (although Firestorm is probably a better discard outlet).
The last thing I frantically searched for was the foil copy of Angel of Invention that I'd recently traded for to add to the cube. It wasn't in my binder and I was concerned it had fallen out or gotten stolen by someone I was trading with. Turns out I'd already added it but I'd forgotten to update my CT page.
The last thing I frantically searched for? The bad puns in your daily posts here
Ha! I didn't think anyone was going to miss those. As awful as my puns have been, it's hard to think of one for every card! I'll try to bring them back as often as I can.

So you were... er.... frantically searching for a bad pun to put at the top of the post today?
Not a fan of Tragic Slip. It's inconsistent getting morbid to trigger in the early game, where I'd rather have something like Disfigure. And later on, I have access to better removal spells. So I just don't have a home/need for it.
I fell down a flight of stairs once, but I was more or less unharmed. But I've broken my wrist/hand on smaller falls that just landed awkwardly on.
I don't run it, but I love the "story" of this card: when you slip and fall it doesn't hurt much, except when somebody just died and you fall into their grave. Wut, seriously? Nobody would be able to come up with that from the rules alone, but the art depicts the story perfectly.
Knock on wood: I don't remember taking any bad fall.
I run Tragic Slip, because I support a small sacrifice theme in both my BR and BG sections and Morbid works well with that. Also, at my power level I don't mind the occasional inconsistent card. It's also one of the few non-white answers to Darksteel Colossus. That said, it's not a superstar and you usually can expect it to wheel if it's a card you might use in your draft deck. In any case it's a flavorful card.
When I was toddler I fell over the banister of a spiral staircase in my grandparents house. I dropped almost an entire floor and split a giant flower pot with my head on the ground level. Thank god all I suffered was a big bruise and a slight concussion.
I like tragic slip. It's not always consistent but it's a kill spell for 1 mana at instant and kills pretty much everything. It obviously works best in with sac outlets so you can always have it online but it's also solid post combat, and once your opponent has seen it they will be a lot more wary of blocking in combat in game 2.
Its never entirely dead either as the non-morbid effect will still kill a wide range of utility guys or X/1 guys.
The flavor always amuses me of "I guess your titan tripped over my squirrel... and died".
I split my head once when I was young, apart from that I am forever tripping and twisting my ankle.

I don't see the appeal of fishing, I like being active. Also, it is not a popular past time around here and there are few good spots for it.
