The legacy cube has certainly improved over what it was, but they often operate under the "one step forward, two steps back" model of business.
Yea, it's too bad because I have a Legacy cube, and I really enjoy the power level compared to Vintage, but it's often difficult to get good feedback on Legacy specific archetypes. For example, I don't run artifact theme because no tinker, etc.
Unpowered cubes here generally try to capture the aesthetic that the Legacy Cubes of MODO run, so I would look at those to get ideas on what you can run in an unpowered/legacy environment. Like for example, the legacy cube doesn't run Survival of the Fittest because it's (rightfully so) banned in Legacy, but in cube it's a STRONG card that doesn't feel effortlessly strong without putting some amount of work into it. A lot of the unpowered lists you see will run it, and that;s the type of different perspective you can gain from browsing those lists.

It's funny how the WotC Legacy Cube managers seem to doesn't kwno anything about cube at all when they do make cut like that. Jokes apart... I know that they are trying to innove and stuff, but Lifeblood Hydra, really? Come on. This card is just bad. It this point, I would prefer Pelakka Wurm or Genesis Hydra.
The problem is that I think they're just too much in love with green ramp. However, a lot of people cubing online do like to play it as well. So maybe WotC is right when they try to improve and innove with this archetype. I mean, they have to because they have obligation to answer the players demand. But in fact, I think those decks suck really bad. Control just beat them all day.
Little advice for those who invest points and time in the Legacy Cube : Draft and prioritise a Control shell. It's really open and it literally dominates the field. Aggro isn't there, except in Boros, and Midrange is all over the place. Control should then win easily like 85% of the time.
My friend had an insane win percentage in the legacy cube forcing UW control every time, like 70% or something ridiculous like that. Control is a dominant archetype in that cube.
I personally think WOTC cube isn't focus on making the strongest cube, but rather just making a different environment for people interest in drafting alternative format.
If people want to go conspiracy theory, they can say that the cube manager there just want a lot of draft data for their own personal cube.
That data is relevant only to the cube it comes from. Trying to apply the analytics gathered for the MTGO cubes with thousands of drafters and applying it to a paper cube with a small playgroup won't net you any positive results (in fact, it would be more likely to set you back). Everything about the MTGO cube experience is different, and that influences the draft data in a tremendous way.
I noticed the MTGO Legacy Cube added this card yesterday. Any thoughts?
Agreed. That card seems terribad for what you get for the cost you pay.
The crazier thing is they cut Wall of Roots as part of the change. It makes zero sense to me.

That's immediately what I thought too. I was surprised with all the changes.
