The final planeswalker reveal is here, and it's indeed a fun one to chew on! 6CC walkers have a high threshold to clear, ESPECIALLY when it's a precious multicolor slot, but it can be done as seen by Chandra and Elspeth. I wanna do fun things with this guy's +1 reveal and drain function, and imagine it to lead to some exciting stories in conjunction with some big Eldrazi.
It's cool, but it costs two colors and arguably the two worst colors to be if you want to find a way into a cube. Like, there's no way this is better than Vindicate/Lingering Souls, probably not better than new-vindicate, and I think the other Sorin is probably better costing 4. It's a cool card, and I would probably try to test it at a larger size, but Im OK not running it now.
Neat card, but Orzhov is pretty stacked at the moment. Not sure how I'd rank it over Sorin, Solemn Visitor or Unburial Rites. If this was mono black I'd probably play him, but being white too means he's got a lot of stiff competition.
I love planeswalkers and I've defended some that others consider terrible, but I think this sorin is really bad. Just compare this to ob nixilis reignited. More expensive cost, multicolored, uh better plus 1, way worse -, niether ultimate is particularly good for a pw. This is more Chandra ablaze than elspeth sun's champion.
Another comparison is sorin the mono black, who is leagues better than this.
Edit: I'm seeing generally positive reactions to the card and am just wondering why specifically he is a good card by himself, am I just being stupid?
(All i see is an edh pw)
I like this guy for larger lists. If you're still running Desolation Angel, that seems like an ideal candidate for replacement. He won't make it into lists with only a few spots available for guild cards, but he certainly looks interesting and fun to play with.

I think you're underrating the - ability. Killing both creatures and planes walkers is pretty stellar, and then you gain life which is also really solid.

+ is WAY better than Ob's - it's a win condition on its own.
- can hit walkers, which is pretty handy.
Think this is again a card that people are underrating. This card is absolutely fantastic, and really the only thing keeping it out is how stacked Orzhov is.
6 mana is a LOT, but I thought 6 mana Elspeth was going to be too expensive until people started playing with her and she ended up being one of the best planeswalker in cube and probably the hardest white PW to beat once she's in play, so I'm probably going to have to reserve judgement on Sorin until people test him.
So, his +1 ends the game in short order in an empty board, his -X does and ok job protecting him, and his ult doesn't matter cause if you've drawn 3 extra cards and domed your opponent for the CMC of each of them, they have got to be basically dead.
How do we rate this with the other 2 orzhov sorins. I'm currently running both 4cc ones, and thinking of dropping one of them for this one. Not sure which to drop though.
He's very Chandra Nalaar-ish in that he's able to immediately nuke titan sized creatures, but he has a very nice upside of being able to hit planeswalkers and gain life. That alone is worth the extra mana upcharge.
Great card all along, but like many before him, he's going to be a victim of competition. This is how I'd probably prioritize Orzhov cards as of now based on what black / white wants / needs.
- I shouldn't really have to explain 1-5, other people will have different preferences for 4-5 but can't really argue with the logic.
- I put Ayli at #6 because black 2-CMC creatures start to drop off after 540.
- I ranked this Sorin over Solemn Visitor because white has no shortage of quality 4-drops. I'd probably be running the other mono white Ajanis at this point so Solemn Visitor would probably be more redundant. I probably like big Sorin over most other 6-CMC mono black / white cards at this size too.
At first glance I didnt like it, but the more I think about it the more I like it. Its a win con on its own and can immediately off other PW. Ill try it.
Decent, but short of good enough.
Decks wanting to play 6 mana cards will generally be behind on board when they cast them.
Having A strong stabalizing effect is very important. Gaining life and killing a creature is solid, but it will often leave him vulnerable to the swing back. Much much worse than the stabalizing potential of elspeth/Chandra.
His + is good, but decks that will want him will rarely be putting pressure on enough that this will kill in a few shots... And It will need to be activated a couple times to breakeven from the disadvantages of his casting cost.
Overall He's noticeably worse than Elspeth and Chandra IMO...
Agreed, Elspeth can survive at 6 mana because she comes with 3 chump blockers. This Sorin just can't be played against a 7 power board, which is not a good thing at this cost.
I don't think people are noticing that his +1 Bobs your opponent. Card seems pretty good. Was really hoping for mono black though. Probably not a auto include but far better than everyone is giving it credit for.
On second thought, he comes in at 6 loyalty. This will be the next elspeth. Card is very good.
I'd agree with steve_man's list of 9,but I feel like card number 5 in your cube could be anything 5-9 on that list depending on group preference. I'd also throw Desolation Angel into that mix as a pet card.

Starts with 6 loyalty counters
Can -6 right away with its second ability.
I don't think this was a coincidence....

1. Vindicate
2. Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
3. Lingering Souls
4. Anguished Unmaking
5. Gerrard's Verdict
6. Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim
7. Sorin, Grim Nemesis
8. Sorin, Solemn Visitor
9. Unburial Rites
Reasonings.

Being white, he can also rely on version of Elspeth / Gideon to stall out the board while he starts drawing cards / nuking things.
