I'm just not seeing it here. If only the elementals would stick around I would be all over this. What does this card do when you opponent is playing with medium sized creatures?
I could see this supporting combo in a way with the cool second ability and the mini-sweeper mode, but 6 mana is a lot for an enabler. Maybe back when I was playing Jacklehaups, but Sarkhan fits that role fine and is on the borderline for my red section.

You have to understand that she is a control finnisher. She does nothing against medium creatures but thats why you play a ton of board wipes/ spot removal in the rest of the deck.
The {+1} is kinda like a Gideon activation when he becomes a creature; only lasts until end of turn, won't take damage, etc. She can bash for 6, with the added benefit of haste, creating multiple attacking bodies (good with anthems) combos well with Purphoros and Skullclamp ...like the plus ability a lot.
The {0} ability is nasty good. 1-sided Windfall + draw a card? Savage. If you wanna keep your drawn card, you can cast before activation. If you want to loot 'em away in addition to drawing, activate first. Super strong effect. Great source of repeatable card advantage.
The {-X} ability is sweet. This format can largely be dominated by small creatures, tokens and army-in-a-can cards. The control decks that play her will fear hard aggro and token swarm decks, and she can answer those strategies. She can protect herself well with this ability, and a scaleable repeatable Pyroclasm effect is just what I want my big red decks to finish a curve with.
Chandra fits into red control, big red ramp decks and Wildfire decks like a glove, and we play those decks a lot. 6 mana is a lot, but I think the abilities are strong, and the combination of abilities will make for a useful win condition/value engine/stabilizer for those kinds of decks. Stoked to test!

I understand it is a control card, but with Elspeth being able to block small things and sweep big things covers the spread and protects the walker.

That may be true but Chandra nets you cards. Sure Elspeth can wipe the board with her ability but chandra lets you dig through a ton of cards to find a wipe (or whatever else the situation calls for). Three imediately available abilities all of which control wants to see in different board states is really good.
You make it sound like Chandra has a hole in her defences while Elspeth doesn't. Tell me, what does Elspeth do against small evasive creatures like Vendillion Clique or Bitterblossom tokens? Chandra deals with these.
I think this Chandra and Sun's Champion are about on par but good in different situations.

What does chandra do against anything with 5 toughness? This chandra may be better than I think it is, but Elspeth it sure as hell ain't.
Managed to get a game in with new Chandra tonight. I played her as the last card from my hand while facing down a Thrun and a Thornling while my opponent had mana up to regen Thrun and make Thornling indestructible. They were tapped so I +1'd to beat for six. I had a Magus of the Wheel on the field as a blocker and my opponent committed both creatures to taking out Chandra. So... not much data haha. Definitely illustrates the type of boards where she is pretty useless. In Chandra's defense though there isn't a planeswalker in the cube that would have survived that board state. There were many points during the game when I REALLY wanted to draw her, like when I was facing down a Hornet Queen army or a few x/2s.

If you want a control finisher in red, Chandra will do great but I disagree that she will do well in Wildfire decks. The way I've played wildfire in the past is to ramp into it dropping threats along the way then casting Wildfire as soon as possible. Who wants to waste a turn on a different six drop? Once I get to 6 mana I want to cast Wildfire 10/10 times. And if I can't cast Wildfire because my opponent will have a larger threat than me, then casting this Chandra first wouldn't even help in that situation. I feel she's a win-more in that deck. Chandra's a cool card, and I'm glad WOTC is giving red powerful cards at all CC's but I think I'll hear some in-game feedback from others before I test this card myself.
I seed a proxy version of her in today and like her a lot. She's a good option, even in a 360, because Red 6 drop only got 3 good cards right now. She doesn't have much competitions, and she's perfect answer to cube manager who want to expand what red is capable of doing. She's not broken, but she's certainly better than what some posters initially think of her.
I've seen positive things crop up on other boards, but aside from Luffy no one's really posted their experiences w her here. How's big Chandra been playing in cube for the last 6 months? What are her long term prospects in your opinion?
She's good. I think people have an idea that planeswalkers can go into any deck that makes the right color(s), and that's not really true. Some are more versatile than Chandra. She's best in Big Red, Wildfire, and R/X control. The one-sided-Windfall ability is great. I see this Chandra sticking around for a while. I love drafting Wildfire decks, so I might keep her around just for that.
She's a great curve topper and sweeper for any big red midrange / control deck. Over the past year, red based control decks have become more popular. Normally red would be the tertiary color in something like Grixis Control, but cards like Chandra and Fiery Confluence helps red take the spotlight in decks where it usually takes the backseat.
This planeswalker is just as good as I thought it would be. It's probably red's 2nd best permanent that costs more than 5 mana, behind only Inferno Titan.
I thought Chandra would be pretty good, but she's played even better. The - is good against Aggro and tokens as expected, but I didn't foresee just how good the + would be. It's great at sniping opposing PWs, and is a great clock, especially if you have some other attackers. 0 really churns through your deck, but It tends to get used the least around here. I prefer her to Inferno Titan if I don't already have creature synergy, and I think she's clearly one of red's two best PWs along with Koth, who is just a very different card.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Cube size could be a reason, but I might even run all four of them as low as 360. I guess I could see Sarkhan getting the axe at that size, but that'd be a very hard cut for me to make.

She's very powerful. Much like Gideon but more flexible. That she can use either of the 3 abilities immediately with effect.
She pressures opposing walkers really well too. And puts off opponents casing them.
My only gripe is that the elementals don't have trample. Shame. #SparkElemental
